A Rare, Complicated Pregnancy
A few months later, the doctors told Angie that she was carrying three babies yet only two placentas, meaning that two of the kids would be identical twins, while the third one had split off from a different egg cell. Such type of pregnancy was extremely rare and it had serious medical implications. For starters, it meant that the twin babies would develop quicker than the third one, posing a threat to the premature child.

Also, one of the identical twins could maybe suffer from "siblicide", which happens when one baby steals the nutrients of another, resulting in its death. Angie was terrified this would happen when she was rushed to the hospital after suffering fluid discrepancy on her 27th week. She was ordered to remain hospitalized until the babies were born. However, two months later, an emergency C-section was ordered, and the triplets were born safe and sound!
