It wasn't long before the boy's family reported his disappearance to the police, but by the time they tracked down his footprints, he was already miles away. The truth was that Cody had walked 6 miles deep into the mountains until he came across a mysterious abandoned home. However, he heard a creepy noise just as he headed towards the front door.
It turns out that a pack of coyotes was lurking nearby, so Cody climbed up a tree to stay safe. It wasn't until the following morning that he walked back to the town, until he came across a boy who offered him some cookies. The boy took Cody to the house of an elder woman, who in turn called the police. The kid was reunited with his family moments later, and everything worked out for the best!
