COVID-19 Surcharges Spark Controversy
When the coronavirus pandemic struck the US, many restaurants nearly went bankrupt, and Chicago's popular chicken restaurant Harold's Chicken was no exception. Not only did the consumption rate plummet, but on top of that, all of their food suppliers increased their prices from night to day. That's when they came up with a plan.

The owners decided to introduce a 26% "COVID-19 fee" to increase their profits. However, when the restaurant's very few customers realized they were being forced to pay a massive surcharge, they burst into anger and put the owners on blast on social media. You can only imagine the things they said.
