#20. The Crown
Ever since we binged season 1 and 2 on Netflix, we’ve been anxiously waiting for the third season of The Crown. While we fell in love with Claire Foy’s portrayal of Her Royal Highness, it’s time to make way for the older version of the Queen. The talented actress Olivia Colman will be starring in our favorite series.
The surprises don’t stop there, though. Helena Bonham Carter we be portraying Princess Margaret. Let me tell you one thing, this season will have you on the edge of your seat: the drama, the tension, and the political context are out of control.
#19. His Dark Materials
Ever since The Golden Compass came into our lives, we’ve been wanting more. The time has finally come for Philip Pullman’s novel to receive its own TV series. Plus, there are loads of things that indicate this series will be truly binge-worthy. First, the fact that the director of the series is also the creator of our favorite series Black Mirror and Peaky Blinders.
Aside from the fact that the direction of the series is in really good hands, the original source of inspiration -that is, the book – is brilliant. The plot is thick and the universe is full of surprises. The original characters and creatures are addictive to watch.
Stay tuned for more series recommendations, especially #8!
#18. Shrek 5
There is no question or even debate about the fact that the Shrek films are amongst our favorite Dreamworks movies. The characters are brilliantly thought out, the plot can catch anyone’s attention and don’t let me get started on the songs. They’re so catchy, they’ll have you singing along in no time.
If you’re the type of person that is skeptical about movie remakes, then make an exception for this one. The Fairy tale universe of Shrek has so much potential, we can’t get enough. Take Michael McCullers’ word for it (he’s the screenwriter). The man guarantees this movie is full of surprises and humor.
#17. Jumanji: The Next Level
Make sure you clear your schedule on December 13. Our favorite team of actors have answered our prayers and responded with the sequel of Jumanji! Let’s face it, Jack Black can make any movie a great comedy. But this time, his humor will be intensified tenfold by the presence of his co-star Kevin Hart.
I can’t wait to lose my head laughing during this film. The only thing I’m looking forward to more than the comedic factor is Dwayne Johnson and Karen Gillan’s charming performances. The plot involves a group of friends, a curious video game and loads of adventures. What could go wrong?
#16. Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker
We can’t get enough of StarWars, cant’ we? Every remake and every sequel just get better and better than the last one. #15. A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood
Tom Hanks is one of the greatest actors of our time, and there’s no arguing about that. His carefully selected roles reflect complex storylines and deep characters. Not everyone could pull off what he does on screen, so that is reason enough to head down to your local cinema as of November 22.
In this movie, Hanks portrays a loved children’s TV actor. When a grumpy journalist is tasked to interview the man, things start to change for both of them. A curious friendship develops between both and the audience dives deep into the life of the reporter. A little tip: make sure to have tissues in hand while watching this movie.

On this dramatically different take, Maleficent and Aurora develop a close relationship. The complex dynamic between both is only made more dramatic by the fact there are magical creatures at stake. Lives need to be saved, forests need to be protected, but will their relationship endure?
#12. Charlie’s Angels
The world was in desperate need of this remake and fortunately for us, the time has arrived. Our patience and our expectations weren’t only met, but easily exceeded. The new angels are portrayed by the following stunning and badass women: Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska and Kristen Stewart. It’s basically a recipe for a fantastic Friday Night Movie!
You might recognize the name of the director – Elizabeth Banks – because she actually made another of our favorite Friday Night films: Pitch Perfect 2. The time has come, finally, for the top-seller book to hit the big screens. Donna Tartt received amazing praise for her novel, and now we get to see our favorite characters on TV. While it might be a bit early to give a verdict, the selected cast only heightens expectations.
In this heart-wrenching film, the main character, Theo, loses his mother after a bomb goes off in the MET. As he grows up, the boy develops a unique sensibility and he meets people as well as things that make him reflect on diverse topics. Don’t miss this movie, critics are already dying to see it.

The story behind Gemini Man is a long one. It involves years in the making and has been sitting in Disney’s archives since 1997. When things go awry, both women take the business into their own hands. Their brutal ways soon make them famous in Hell’s Kitchen. Will you miss this hit?
#2. It, Chapter Two
Our favorite scariest clown is back in town. In case you still haven’t watched this Friday Night must then pay attention. This particular spooky fellow is called Pennywise, and he really got a hit out of tormenting the neighborhood kids last time. These poor kids were actually known as The Losers’ Club.
The sequel depicts the same group of friends, but nearly 30 years after. After news gets out that Pennywise is on the large again, the group returns to the scene of the crimes. Nothing scared us more when we were younger than the Joker. His maniac laughs, his spooky ways but above all his purely evil ways were truly the stuff of nightmares. In those moments, we were all thankful Gotham City was only fictitious. Since the first Batman movie came out, many actors have attempted to portray this villain.
Don’t miss this guaranteed success. The movie comes out on October 4, and you bet cinemas will be packed, so be sure to buy your tickets in advance. In spite of the multiple interpretations of this character, the director and writers have assured we’ll be in for a ride. Surprises are to be awaited.
