19. THE REALIZATION
It was just an ordinary day for little Casey, a 3-year-old boy who decided to go outside in the yard an play. Everything was going really well an Casey was enjoying playing and spending time with some of his friends. However, when the time came to go inside, the little boy seemed to be nowhere. 18. LOSING HOPE
Sadly, even withe the help of the police, the little boy was nowhere to be found. Everyone was trying to have faith but as the days were passing without a sign of the little boy, hope seemed to fade away. Police dog were also on the mission by sniffing in order to detect the boy’s scent.
17. WAITING FOR A MIRACLE
Moreover, Casey was living in Craven County, North Carolina and the temperatures had started to drop making it extra hard for the boy to survive out in the cold. Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes believed that the only think needed at that point was a miracle!
16. FINALLY FOUND
Suddenly one man heard a quiet cry coming from a distance and he decided to investigate. He started following the cries and after some time he found little Casey curled-up trying to warm himself up. The sight was socking!
15. FROZEN
“His core temperature was very low, his fingers and all had a bit of frostbite,” Sheriff Hughes said to us. The little boy seemed really worn out and his body was frozen due to the harsh weather. However, the fact that he was found alive it was a true miracle!
14. BACK TO SAFETY
Immediately the research team took him to the hospital, where he would be able to regain his health and be taken good care by the staff. The little boy needed a lot of care due to the things that he had been through at that young age.
13. SHARING A SECRET
While still at the hospital, Casey was started to feel a lot better and one day he decided to share with his mother his secret of how he survived so many days in the cold weather. After hearing that his mother was socked and a bit scared,too.
12. BEST FRIENDS
Casey told his mom that he manage to survive due to an unexpected friend that he made out in the woods. He told her that while he was trying to return home, a bear was looking after him and that’s the reason why he is alive today.
11. SOCKED
After hearing these words his mother told his secret to the rest of the family and his aunt decided to share his story on Facebook. “He said he hung out with a bear for two days … God sent him a friend to keep him safe. God is a good God. Miracles do happen.”
10. BECOMING VIRAL
Since then, the story of the little boy that hung out with a bear in order to survive, went viral and everyone knew about it. However, many people believed that this never happened and the little boy had imagined it due to his exhaustion.
9. CHRIS NORCOTT
However, Chris Norcott, a photographer of the wildlife who knows many things about bears and especially black bears, believes that the child’s story can be true. Moreover he is aware of many other stories like Casey’s from the past.
8. POSSIBLE
“I believe him,” Norcott told us. “Over the years, I’ve seen many behaviors which demonstrated their concern and nurturing side … towards their own offspring [and]other animals.” “This could certainly be possible,” Norcott said.
7. NOT KNOWING THE TRUTH
“I don’t know if that meant he saw a bear,” said Sheriff Hughes. “I don’t know if that meant a bear embraced him or what it meant.”
6. WHAT MATTERS
However, it doesn’t matter if the story was true, because the most important thing is that Casey made it out alive and he is reunited with his family and his loved ones. That’s all that matters and no one can deny it even if the story was fictional.
5. TEDDY BEARS
Now that everyone knows the amazing story of Casey’s survival, many people started sending him teddy bears in order to congratulate him for his bravery and his arrival at his home. Everyone was really happy for Casey’s return to safety!
4. EMBRACING THE STORY
“I thought it was a very cute story,” Sheriff Hughes told us, “and if that’s what helped that child survive through this, you know what, I’m to going to embrace that story.”
3. INCREDIBLE
It doesn’t matter if you believe the story that the little boy told his mother, what matters is that somehow this 3-year-old boy managed to stay alive after days of being out in the cold weather without food or water and that’s something incredible!
2. WE WILL NEVER KNOW
Maybe the little boy imagined being taken care of bear because he wanted to fell a caring presence when times got rough. Or maybe he was lucky enough to meet a bear that wanted to take care of him. We will never really know.

However, what happened to this child was really rough taking into consideration his young age and the harsh weather. So regardless of what happened, the fact that the little 3-year-old boy ended up being alive, is a miracle.
