A Groundbreaking Discovery
The Norwegian village of Avaldsnes is known for having been a Viking stronghold over 1,000 years ago. The leaders of the community were customarily buried along with their ships in very large graves. You might think that finding these huge graves would be easy, but only 15 of them have been found so far.

One of them was recently discovered thanks to georadar technology, which is the same technology used to find landmines. The ship was found in Edoy, a small island, right underneath a farm. Just imagine the surprise of the farmer when he heard the news!
