A Difficult Find
The Nebra sky disc was the artifact that the treasure hunters found. This incredible item from the Bronze Age dates back to 1600 BC and was an amazing discovery that helped historians and archaeologists understand that age better. Sadly, the treasure hunters sold it as quickly as they could.
It took years for the German police to track the disc down and organize a sting to recover it. Herald Meller, an archaeologist, arranged a meeting with a black-market seller to purchase it. He was working with the police and they managed to finally find the disc. The precious artifact is now being exhibited at the Halle State Museum in Germany.
