An Unfortunate Misunderstanding
While the old lady was wandering around the fields looking for flowers, a neighbor called 911 to report that a stranger was on their property. Shortly after, three cops arrived at the scene and found Al-Bishara standing atop a hill with a steak knife in her right hand. The police approached her and asked her to put her knife down, but the old lady — born in Syria — spoke no English.
After picking up some dandelions, Al-Bishara started walking down the hill as if the cops weren't there, and that's when one of the officers pointed his Taser at her. She kept on walking as if nobody was there and was therefore sent to jail on the grounds of "obstruction of an officer", though she was fortunately released nearly three hours later.
