Dana the orangutan lived . In 2009, she nearly died after her pregnancy resulted in a stillbirth. The center's doctors blocked her fallopian tubes in order to prevent further complications. However, 4 years later, obstetrician Neil MacLachlan performed surgery for Dana to conceive once again. But would it work out this time?

The surgery went well and the orangutan miraculously managed to conceive. Almost a year later, the whole world got to see the first orangutan birth ever recorded. Moments after giving birth, and just as the zookeepers were having the baby cleaned, Dana stood up and confronted them. At first, everyone feared Dana would attack them, but all she wanted was to hold her newborn baby in her arms! It seems that humans and primates aren't so different after all!
