A Ghost Of The Past
Base W, located in Antarctica, operated for two years before its occupants were forced to abandon it. The yearly freeze did not allow supplies to reach them, so they left the place in 1958. In 1996, members of the British Antarctic Survey found it and, to their surprise, everything had been perfectly preserved.
Now, the base is a historical landmark that people are welcome to visit. You can still see everything the way people left it all those years ago, including leftover supplies, old log books, and other everyday items.
