Cursed Or Just Negligent?
Linda Blair recently opened up about the "Exorcist curse" in an interview. She said that she totally believes that the movie production was cursed, probably because of the subject matter that the movie dealt with. During production of the movie, both Blair and Ellen Burstyn, who played her mother, suffered long-term back injuries.
There was also a fire that consumed almost all of the set, except for Blair's character's bedroom, which happened to be the possessed girl. One could argue that those in charge of making the set a safe place to work failed in their task and all happened because of their negligence, but Blair strongly believes there's a curse.
