Former Hollywood Stars That Now Have Normal Jobs

#3. Peter Ostrum

Back in the 70s, Peter Ostrum was one of the most famous child stars out there, especially after nailing it in the role of Charlie Bucket in the 1971 film version of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Ostrum could've easily pursued a career in Hollywood, but to everyone's surprise, that was the only movie he ever acted in. Upon graduating from high school, he went on to study veterinary at Cornell University and he currently works in a farm in New York where he specializes in horses.

#2. Gene Hackman

Gene Hackman is most famous for his roles in Unforgiven and The French Connection, both of which earned him an Oscar for Best Actor. But ever since he starred in 2004 rom-com Welcome to Mooseport, he totally disappeared from the map.

In 2004, Hackman decided to give writing a chance, and he co-wrote four books together with Daniel Lenihan. Given his surprising success as an author, he went on to write two more novels, Pursuit and Payback at Morning Break. He really is a chameleon, isn't he?

#1. Jack Gleeson

Jack Gleeson got his big break after landing the role of Joffrey Baratheon on HBO's hit series Game of Thrones. But for some reason, ever since his character was unexpectedly killed off the show, everyone lost track of him!

Apparently, Gleeson decided to take a break from acting to continue his studies in philosophy. He recently confessed he saw acting more as a hobby than a profession, hence his decision of going back to college to become a full-time student. Will he ever be back?
