63 Years After Her Adoption, Scottish Granny Unveils Shocking Truth

Long Lost Family

When Nora was 63, she found her birth mother's real name while going through some records in Edinburgh. She had recently learned about this show that reunited long-lost families, so she contacted one of the show's producers. Luckily, the producers found out that Nora's birth mom was called Margaret and they tracked down her address, but when Nora went to visit her, she found out that Margaret had actually moved out long ago.

Just as she was about to give up, the TV producers found out that Margaret was now going by the name Rita and that she was living in Ontario, Canada. Nora wrote Margaret a letter, and weeks later she replied telling her the whole truth. Apparently, Margaret's parents had forced her to put Nora up for adoption, and she was so devastated that she left Scotland and changed her name. On Mother's Day of 2016, Rita flew to Glasgow to meet her long-lost daughter. It was a dream come true!
