Unforgettable Moments Caught On Live TV

#18. Reporter Loses Mic Down A Tuba

When you're a news reporter, things can always go wrong, even when it comes to interviewing a school band! KSAZ news reporter Cory McCloskey was covering a pep rally at a school in Phoenix, when his mic got stuck inside what he calls a "tuba".

The funniest part is that right before the incident, the reporter says "You know I love the tuba. It's one of my favorite instruments. Listen to this", but the instrument was not a tuba, but a sousaphone! Both the reporter and the student immediately burst into laughter upon realizing what had just happened.

#17. Woman Soaked By Passing Truck

It goes without saying that one should never be reporting next to a street with heavy, muddy puddles. When journalist Lauren Hewitt was asked to shoot a local news report about housing in Norwich, she chose the unwisest place of all.

Actually, the most hilarious part of the clip is the moment in which she stops the report, turns around, and gets splashed by another vehicle seconds later. I hope she learned her lesson.

#16. Reporter Pooped By Bird

When this alleged TV reporter got pooped by a bird right in the middle of a news report on bird infestations, the video went viral. But not only did the bird poop on his shirt! Seconds later, the guy looks up, and a second load of poop falls straight into his mouth.

In the footage, the journalist goes mad and starts swearing and spitting, and let's be honest, we all fell for it! A few days later, it was revealed that the whole clip was a fake, and that the unfortunate TV reporter was actually a comedian.

#15. Grape Lady Falls Face-First

Back in 2006, a woman named Melissa Sander was challenging another woman in a grape-stomping contest, where they had to squish the grapes with their bare feet. But unfortunately for her, she wasn't even close to winning.

On the live footage, you can see Melissa tripping over the bucket and falling face-first straight into the ground. From that day, she was dubbed as the "Grape Stomper" or the "Grape Lady Epic Fall Girl".

#14. Goat Takes On Reporter

60-year-old Florida TV reporter Linda Carson was doing a live report inside a pen filled with prize-winning goats. Well, making friends with goats is never an option, and let's just say that Linda learned this the hard way.

At one point, Linda starts patting one of the goats, until she gets annoyed at the fact that it wouldn't stop gnawing at her pants. Then, all of a sudden, the goat knocks her over with a merciless head butt.

#13. Reporter Tackled By Football Fan

Sometimes, it's better not to try and fit in where you don't belong. This Minnesotan news reporter named Lee Valsik was trying to practice some basic football moves a few hours before an important match, when suddenly this happened.

The woman handed the football to the guy she was interviewing, the guy threw the football to a man who was hiding behind a tree, and that guy ran towards Valsik and tackled her to the ground. She actually bounced against the table before falling to the floor. Ouch!

#12. Skunk Prank On TV Set

I don't know much about skunks, other than the fact that they can spray you and that they totally stink! Well, when this zoologist from an environmentalist NGO was interviewed on the set of KMTV, he pulled off a sly yet risky prank.

The man was explaining how skunks can spray people as a defense mechanism, when he suddenly sprayed the anchors with water. The news reporters went crazy, thinking they had actually been sprayed by the skunk, but they burst into laughter upon realizing what had just happened.

#11. Cameraman Crashes Into Bolt

I bet you wouldn't wanna mess with the fastest man on earth, cause if he chases you back, there's no chance you'd get away with it! Well, this cameraman should have thought it through before tackling Usain Bolt on live TV.

CCTV broadcaster Song Tao was riding his motorized scooter when he accidentally bumped into Usain Bolt just as the athlete trotted his victory lap right after winning the 200m race.

#10. Knock Knock, Who's There?

Throughout the COVID-19 lockdown, most interviews were conducted through platforms such as Zoom, since carrying them out face-to-face on the studio was not an option. BBC was interviewing political analyst Robert Kelly, when this happened.

Just as he was solemnly giving his views on the political consequences of the pandemic, his child walked happily into the room. The funniest part is that this had already happened to him on another interview in 2017.

#9. Monkey Slaps News Anchor

Once Dr. Dolittle hit the theaters, that adorable capuchin monkey that stars in the movie was all people talked about. But when KHOU-TV host Deborah Duncan had the primate come to the TV set, she realized the creature was way more mischievous than what she expected.

The monkey named Wilson was feeding on some grapes, when the news anchor thought it would be a good idea to snatch a grape from its hands. Seconds later, the woman gave the grape back, but Wilson wasn't amused by the prank and slapped her in the face.

#8. Reporter Falls In Water

A Dutch reporter named Martje Oesterholt was interviewing the mayor of a Dutch town aboard a ship, but just as she was going through her first question, she lost her balance and fell right off the boat and straight into the water.

It seems that sometimes, nature knows when you need a good bath! I doubt she enjoyed it though, cause judging on all the clothes she was wearing, the water must've been freezing!

#7. Hit By Skateboard

Channel 7's American correspondent Mike Amor was shooting a segment about hoverboards at one of Los Angeles' skate parks, when he was suddenly attacked by a flying skateboard.

Just as he was facing the camera, a skateboard came flying out of the bowl and smacked him in the head. Despite the obvious bump in his head, he went on with the interview.

#6. Reporter Pooped By Kinkajou

Ever heard of kinkajous before? Also known as honey bears, these raccoon-like creatures are quite rare and also quite mischievous, or so it seems. Look what happened when GMA anchor Josh Elliot was feeding a kinkajou on live TV.

Just as he was feeding the tiny furry creature, pooping on his arm was his way of saying thank you. Everyone burst into laughter, obviously. Who could ever get mad at such an adorable little fella?

#5. News Anchor Spit By Llama

It's common knowledge that llamas spit on each other from time to time, and according to biologists, it's their way of expressing irritation. However, sometimes, these woolly creatures treat humans just like they would treat a fellow llama, and here's some evidence.

News reporter Eliana Sheriff was feeding a llama some apple chunks, but apparently the fruit wasn't at tasty as he thought it would be, because he spat out the food on her seconds later.

#4. Alpaca Spits On News Anchor

Alplacas are very similar to llamas, and guess what? They're professional spitters, too! TV reporter Philip Schofield learned it the hard way when he had two alpacas visit him live on the studio.

Phil was holding the alpacas with a sort of leash, when one of the two started pulling back. Instants later, the irritated alpaca glared at him and spat out loudly straight into his eye. Fellow reporter Holly Willoughby couldn't help but shed tears of laughter, as we all would've done.

#3. Insect Invasion

NBC reporter and comedian Katya Leick was trying to deliver her news segment at Fort Riley near Topeka, Kansas, but things didn't go as planned.

She definitely wasn't expecting to be the victim of this cicada invasion, and she didn't handle it too well either. She started screaming and jumping around while slapping at the creepy-crawlies, but at least she wasn't stung!

#2. Reporter Attacked By Cockerel

Australian morning presenter Steve Jacobs was on assignment at a poultry fair in Lismore, Australia, when he was suddenly attacked by the most unimaginable enemy.

Jacobs was holding a giant cockerel in his arms, when the bird started pecking at him. This evidently took Jacbos by surprise, as he screamed from the top of his lungs and ran for his life. OK, drama queen.

#1. Woman Protects Herself From "Deadly" Koala

If you were expecting another hilarious animal attack, then think again! British ITV broadcaster fell for a witty prank when they made her believe that koalas were aggressive creatures and that she had to wear a metal armor to protect herself from potential attacks.

As she holds the koala, you can hear her say: "I’m trying not to be worried because I’ve been told that he can sense if I’m worried". But once she realized how cuddly and adorable the creature was, she burst into laughter
