Its Age Is Unknown
Yes, that's right: nobody knows exactly when it was formed. Of course, scientists can estimate how old it is, but nobody is entirely sure.

Different studies have yielded different results. For example, one study concluded that the Canyon was formed 70 million years ago, while another one estimated 5 or 6 million years. That's a pretty big difference, isn't it?
It Has Its Own Micro Climates
The climate of the Grand Canyon is truly amazing. The whole area is composed of several micro climates because of its differences in terrain.

Not only that, but the terrain itself causes alterations in climate depending on the height. For example, the lower you go, the lower the temperature is.
It Isn't That Deep
The Grand Canyon is known worldwide as one of the most beautiful places to visit and it is definitely one of the most famous travel destinations in the United States. Contrary to popular belief, however, it is not the deepest canyon in America.

While we can all agree on how beautiful it is, it is not that deep in comparison to other canyons in the same country, let alone the rest of the world. Hells Canyon is the biggest one in the US.
