Artist Reimagines Disney Characters As Real People

#30. Princess Jasmine

Princess Jasmine is many people's favorite princess - and for good reason! She wanted to break free from the rules imposed by her father and be independent, just like many young girls do.

Jasmine also became popular for being the first non-Caucasian Disney Princess ever, bringing diversity into the genre. Here, the artist did an amazing job at bringing her to life with realistic features.

#29. Moana

Moana is the latest addition to the Disney Princess franchise and has already won over Disney fans all over the world. The sweet, adventurous, determined young princess is a great rolemodel for children.

The animated version is already pretty realistic-looking, save for the signature big eyes that Disney characters have. Here, we have a very natural-looking Moana with beautiful, realistic hair. It honestly looks like a picture of a real girl!

#28. Belle

Belle is one of Disney's most famous characters. She is a fan favorite not only because of her beauty, but also for how smart, tenacious, and caring she is. The brave young woman sacrifices herself to save her father and ends up falling in love with a beast because she sees the good in him, making her a great example to follow.

In the animated version, it is established that she is uniquely beautiful, more than any other girl in the village. Here, Jirka turned her into a real person who is still breathtakingly beautiful but has realistic features.

#27. Prince Florian

As part of Disney's first fully animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Prince Florian (yes, that's his name, even though they don't mention it in the movie) was the first Disney prince ever. His character design was pretty realistic, especially for 1937.

Here, Jirka managed to make this realistic version of the famous prince that looks almost exactly like the animated one somehow. He got all the features right, especially his gorgeous black hair.

#26. Aladdin

Aladdin is one of the most iconic Disney characters ever, particularly because of his charm and how lovable he is. Sure, he is a thief, but the audience empathizes with him because of his struggles and his good heart.

It is impressive how Jirka captured Aladdin's charm perfectly in this illustration. Every single detail from the animated version is included in this one, such as his belt, his messy hair, and his hat.

#25.Tarzan

Tarzan ends up lost in the jungle with his parents after a shipwreck. His parents are tragically killed and he is rescued by a gorilla, making him think he is a gorilla and not a man. Everything changes when he finally encounters humans for the first time and falls in love with Jane.

The artist perfectly captured Tarzan's essence here, particularly his expressive eyes. You can see how curious he is and how he is trying to communicate despite not knowing how to talk. Isn't it amazing?

#24. Captain Li Shang

When Mulan decides to take her father's place in the army, she ends up following Captain Li Shang, a structured, disciplined man who later proves to also have a huge heart.

As the movie progresses, we can see that Mulan slowly falls in love with Shang, and thanks to this realistic version of him, we can see why! His features, especially his strong jaw, translated perfectly into this version of the character.

#23. Prince Eric

Prince Eric is the charming man that made Ariel in The Little Mermaid want to become a human. She was captivated by his smile, which as you can see, is pretty amazing.

Jirka emphasized his charming smile and perfectly translated his kind blue eyes. He also got the hair, the clothes, and even the eyebrows perfect!

#22. Hercules

Hercules was raised by humans without knowing he was a god. Once he learns about his true identity, he embarks in an adventure to become a true hero. He is known for his super strength and for his looks, typical of a Greek god.

In this realistic characterization, Hercules retains his muscles, but with realistic proportions. He is wearing the exact same clothes as in the animated version and his hair looks incredibly similar too.

#21. Prince Adam

The name "Prince Adam" might not sound familiar to you, but that's actually the name of the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. Before he was cursed, he was the most handsome prince in the land, known for his vanity and selfishness.

Although he only shows up in the movie for a couple minutes, he managed to create a lasting impression on the viewers because of his striking looks. This illustration shows Adam as he is regaining his real form.

#20. Ursula

Ursula, the evil witch from The Little Mermaid, is one of the most popular villains Disney ever created, particularly because of her unique looks. Did you know that the creators of the movie were inspired by drag queens when they designed her?

The artist maintained all the details of the animated version of Ursula: her dress, the hair, the big red lips, even her nails! And let's be honest, doesn't she look like a fabulous drag queen?

#19. Jafar

A big part of Aladdin's success is definitely owed to the appeal of Jafar, one of Disney's most terrifying villains. This cold-blooded sorcerer has a magical staff that can hypnotize people and he uses it to manipulate the Sultan and take over his kingdom.

Jafar has a long, thin face with an intense gaze, which can be perfectly shown in this adaptation of the character. His signature goatee and extravagant clothes are also featured and we gotta say, Jirka did an amazing job on this one.

#18. Gaston

Gaston is the villain that everyone loves to hate. This narcissistic, chauvinistic man is known for his good looks, but beyond his physical appearance, there are no redeeming qualities to him.

Much like in the original cartoon version, Gaston's arrogance is very clear in his facial expressions, which the artist captured perfectly here. His snarling smile, his condescending eyebrow raise, and his muscular build are all there!

#17. Cinderella’s Evil Stepmother

Since we are on the topic of villains, let's talk about another terrifying one: Cinderella's evil stepmother. The woman has no name in the movie, but does she even need one? She's easily recognizable just by looking at her face.

The sinister woman is known for her pursed lips, disapproving expression, and sharp features, which are all perfectly captured in this illustration. Just looking at her evil face gives you chills!

#16. Snow White

Snow White was not only the first Disney princess, but also the first Disney movie character ever! Even after a million other movies have been made, she still remains one of the most memorable characters ever created.

Snow White's appearance is a huge part of her character, given that the plot is driven by the fact that her stepmother is jealous of her beauty. In this illustration, we can see it all perfectly: her short black hair, her skin white as snow, her innocent eyes, and her red lips.

#15. Tiana

Tiana is a driven young girl who dreams of having her own restaurant. The hardworking girl then finds herself trapped in the body of a frog and has to find a way to lift the curse before it's too late.

Tiana was the first African-American princess to join the franchise. Aside from all her amazing features, the most outstanding part of her looks is definitely her smile, which looks just like the one in the original version.

#14. Anna

Frozen has been one of the most successful Disney projects of recent years. The animation, the story, the music... everything about it is just magical. However, we can all agree that the best part about the movie is it's wonderful characters.

Anna is Elsa's younger sister. She is naive, bubbly, and likes to see the best in people. Through her big, blue eyes, you can see how innocent she is, and in this reimagined version of the character, it translated perfectly. Her dress also looks exactly like the real one!

#13. Captain Hook

Captain Hook is one of those villains who, although they are evil, they are actually quite funny and entertaining. This is mainly because he is actually not as smart as he thinks he is.

Here, Captain Hook has his signature look, including his red garbs, trademark had, and of course, his hook. However, he has a much more sinister face than in the animated movie, which makes sense since this is a more realistic take on the character.

#12. John Smith

John Smith was Pocahontas's love interest. Throughout the whole movie, we are rooting for them to be together, only to be shocked at the end when we realize that they are better off going their separate ways. This was a shocking move on Disney's part, since the company is known for their happily-ever-after endings.

Here, while the artist kept Smith's signature hair and clothes, he based this illustration on actor Jason Lewis, who happens to look like a real-life version of John Smith. If they ever made a live-action remake, they should definitely cast him.

#11. Jane

The beautiful Jane is Tarzan's love interest in the movie. She arrives to the jungle as an explorer, wearing elegant clothes and acting as a proper lady would. However, as soon as she meets Tarzan, she starts to loosen up and embrace his lifestyle.

Here, the artist decided to go for the "jungle" version of Jane after she decides to stay with Tarzan and leave civilization behind. Her small chin and soft features are portrayed perfectly here, we have to say.

#10. Hades

Hades is the God of the Underworld and Hercules's uncle. Jealous of his brother Zeus, Hades concocts a plan to kill Hercules as a baby, which backfires. Surely, anyone capable of planning the assassination of a baby has to be pure evil!

However, despite being extremely evil, Hades is a very comical character. His most recognizable features include his "hair", which is actually blue fire, his grey skin, and his big nose. In this version, he looks much less scary, but it is still a great reimagination of the character.

#9. Kristoff

Kristoff is the sweet, kind, adventurous guy who rescues Anna when she is in danger after trying to find her sister, Elsa. She does not see it at first because she's in love with the evil Hans, but she later realizes that Kristoff is the best choice for her.

Kristoff's good nature is shown through his soft features and kind eyes, coupled with his warm smile. Here, we can see all of that, plus his signature blond hair and the exact same clothes he wears in the movie.

#8. Tarzan’s Father

Now, you might think that, out of all of Disney's characters, Tarzan's father is not very relevant, but true Disney fans would disagree. We only get to see Tarzan's human parents during the first few minutes of the movie and we don't even know their names, yet they're the ones that drive the whole plot to begin with!

Most importantly, Tarzan is a carbon copy of his father, save the mustache, which makes it easy for him to recognize him when he sees a picture of him and realizes that he is in fact human and not a gorilla. Here, the artist did an amazing job at capturing all his features, especially his hair and mustache.

#7. Chief Powhatan

Chief Powhatan is Pocahontas's father. He is responsible for protecting every member of his tribe, especially Pocahontas, so he clashes with his daughter often. While she wants to be free and independent, he wants to protect her from the dangers of the outside world.

Here, we can see his muscular physique, the red tribal markings, and the cape that the animated version of the character has. Not only that, but the expression of his eyes was captured perfectly.

#6. Vanessa

If you're a casual fan of Disney, you might be thinking: "Vanessa who?", but the truth is that Vanessa is a very important part of The Little Mermaid. She is in fact Ursula in disguise.

Ursula takes on the form of Vanessa in order to seduce prince Eric and steal Ariel's voice forever. Although she is gorgeous, you can tell that she is evil because of her strong eyebrows and wicked expression, which was illustrated to perfection in this picture.

#5. Cinderella

Cinderella is the embodiment of the Disney mentality: if you are kind and have faith, your dreams will come true. Even after suffering the abuse of her evil stepmother and stepsisters, Cinderella always remained gracious, sweet, and kind.

In this portrait version, we can see her in her regular clothes as opposed to her "princess" outfit in which she is usually portrayed. It is no wonder that the prince fell in love with her at first sight - look at her beauty!

#4. Judge Claude Frollo

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of Disney's darkest movies ever and it is definitely not suitable for small children. Many adults look back on this movie as one of Disney's scariest films from their childhood, particularly because of its villain, Judge Claude Frollo.

Judge Frollo is cold, calculated, and just pure evil. But even if you don't hear him speak, his looks already let you know that he's the villain of the story. Here, we can see his terrifying look, his hook nose, and his pursed lips, which all together are the stuff of nightmares.

#3. Elsa

Of course, our list wouldn't be complete without Elsa, the Ice Queen herself! Elsa has become Disney's most popular character at the moment, and she has inspired countless people to dress up like her in her iconic blue dress and beautiful platinum-blond hair.

The original version of Elsa is a little bit cartooney, with huge blue eyes, a big head, and a small mouth and nose. Yet, Jirka managed to include all of these features in a realistic portrayal of Elsa, which is impressive.

#2. Cruella de Vil

Cruella de Vil is one of Disney's most hated characters, simply because she never felt any remorse about trying to turn 101 dogs into fur coats.

This despicable lady is known for her skinny, tall body, her tiny nose, and her black-and-white hair. Here, she looks like she's ready to kidnap a bunch of puppies and enjoy every second of it!

#1. Ariel

The Little Mermaid is credited for reviving Disney after many years of struggle and making it the company that it is today. Part of its success was of course due to the amazing character of Ariel.

Ariel is innocent, sweet, and just wants to be independent and free. You can see this innocence in her big eyes, can't you? Also, Jirka drew her gorgeous, long, red hair to look just like the original one.
