Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez is not only known for her catchy songs, her dance moves, and her many movies, but also for her ridiculous demands on set. It has been widely reported that she sends long lists of requirements to hotels and studios prior to her arrival.
Her demands include all-white dressing rooms, a whole separate room just for her clothes, and very specific instructions about food. She has also been called rude and unprofessional by many sources.
Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow was once one of the most demanded actresses in Hollywood, and she later became one of the most disliked celebrities in the world. This was due to a series of pretentious and out-of-touch comments she made, among other things.
She has also gotten much fewer roles over the years because of her alleged arrogant and diva attitude on set, which includes demanding higher pay than co-stars and having better lighting than them so she stands out.
Jared Leto
Can you imagine having to work alongside The Joker? Well, that’s what the cast and crew of Suicide Squad had to endure during filming. Apparently, Jared Leto refused to get out of character for the sake of the role.
Leto acted as crazy as the Joker himself, sending disturbing gifts to people like a dead pig and used condoms, demanding that people call him Mr. J., and telling people not to look him in the eye or touch him.
Gene Hackman
Gene Hackman got his reputation for being difficult when filming The Royal Tenenbaums. He was reportedly very arrogant and had anger outbursts on set. But that’s only the beginning.
He also reportedly mocked director Wes Anderson for his appearance, which made him feel uncomfortable and unsafe on set. Anderson reportedly asked Bill Murray to look out for him when Hackman was around in case he had a violent meltdown.
Wesley Snipes
Wesley Snipes is notorious for his bad behavior on set, most infamously for his attitude during the production of Blade: Trinity. Not only did he tried to choke director David Goyer, but he also showed up to set high several times.
He also got so upset that he stopped talking with the cast and crew and decided to use post-its to communicate. The cherry on top was that he sued the studio for $5 million.
Charlie Sheen
Charlie Sheen was once at the top of the Hollywood game being the highest-paid actor on television. But, as quickly as he rose to fame, he went downhill. The set of Two and a Half Men went from being a nice work environment to a living hell for all of Sheen’s colleagues.
Sheen had many erratic outbursts, missed rehearsals, and insulted the cast and crew. This eventually got so bad that he was fired and replaced by Ashton Kutcher.
Shannen Doherty
At this point, Shannen Doherty is better known for her bad attitude than her work as an actress, and it all started on her very first job on television, Beverly Hills 90210. She picked fights with everyone and was eventually fired.
The same thing happened during her time on the hit-show Charmed, where Doherty left after the fourth season of the show because she just couldn’t get along with the cast, particularly co-star Alyssa Milano.
Edward Norton
Edward Norton is a pretty likable guy and audiences enjoy watching him on screen. However, working with him is a different story. Allegedly, Norton is a notorious control freak who wants everything done his way or the high way.
During the production of The Incredible Hulk, Norton, who was hired to play the main role, allegedly re-wrote the entire script because he didn’t like the original version. The movie wasn’t very successful in the end – do you think it was due to his intervention?
Mike Myers
Mike Myers played countless memorable roles and made thousands of people laugh. The people who worked with him, however, weren’t amused. That is because he has a reputation for being a diva on set.
According to his co-stars, Myers likes to micromanage everything and gets progressively more and more difficult to work with when he doesn’t get what he wants. In fact, he is known to have anger fits when he’s not happy.
Sharon Stone
Sharon Stone is known for being talented, beautiful, and also very, very difficult to deal with. Although she has always denied the claims against her, several people have called her out on her diva attitude on set.
From ridiculous demands in contracts to leaving set unannounced, Stone has annoyed her fair share of colleagues. She had so many demands for Basic Instinct 2 that the movie ended up being canceled.
Casey Affleck
Casey Affleck‘s misbehavior, unlike most celebrities on our list, exceeds ridiculous demands and diva attitude. Affleck has actually been accused of harassing female coworkers and retaliating against them when he didn’t get what he wanted.
After the story of the accusations broke out, Affleck has been out of the spotlight and has found it difficult to find work. Even his best friend, Joaquin Phoenix, decided to cut ties with him due to his behavior.
Katherine Heigl
Katherine Heigl‘s falls from grace is one of the biggest we have witnessed in recent Hollywood history. She went from being one of the most demanded actresses around to practically being blacklisted.
This was due to the fact that she literally bad-mouthed every single movie and show she was in, making the entire production look bad. Filmmakers felt disrespected and stopped hiring her as a result.
Chevy Chase
Chevy Chase‘s career went downhill in a similar fashion to Heigl’s. First of all, he just couldn’t seem to get along with any of his colleagues in most of his projects. But that was just the tip of the iceberg.
Chase decided to bash the television show he was working on, Community, by calling it a f mediocre sitcom. YIKES. Needless to say that he was forced to leave the show and hasn’t had much work ever since.
Bruce Willis
Although Bruce Willis is one of the most famous celebrities out there, he has a reputation for being difficult on set. His reputation has never stopped him from getting work, however, and he’s one of the most beloved action heroes in Hollywood.
According to the people he has worked with, he has a terrible attitude, makes ridiculous demands and, worst of all, is said to be very greedy. He allegedly demands very high interview fees, which is maybe the reason why we don’t see him giving interviews very often.
Daniel Day-Lewis
Daniel Day-Lewis is an amazing actor and this fact can hardly be denied, especially with three Oscars on his shelf. However, his on-set methods have been questioned by many of those who had the… “pleasure” to work with him.
Allegedly, his acting method is not to get out of character, which has resulted in Lewis throwing stuff at co-stars, demanding to be pushed around in a wheelchair, and requesting that people only call him by his characters’ names.
Julia Roberts
Although Julia Roberts is known as America’s Sweetheart, she is allegedly anything but sweet. She is known to be a huge diva on set, who is very, very harsh when she doesn’t get what she wants.
Her attitude is apparently so bad that Steven Spielberg nicknamed her Tinkerhell when working on the Peter Pan adaptation, Hook, together. She has always denied the accusations, however.
Alec Baldwin
All the Baldwin brothers have had their fair share of nasty rumors about them, but Alec Baldwin takes the cake. He was, according to some sources, a nightmare to work with on the set of 30 Rock and many of his movies.
Not only did he have meltdowns on set and yell at everyone, but he would show up late and complain about everything and everyone. He has also had many public meltdowns, which makes the rumors seem totally believable.
Christian Bale
No one can deny that Christian Bale is an incredible actor, but his methods are questionable, to say the least. He is so devoted to roles that he will sometimes just lost himself in them and forget his sense of self.
When he’s playing a role, he becomes the role. And, if he’s playing a difficult character, you better believe he will be difficult. Not only has he insulted and yelled at the cast and crew of Terminator Salvation, but he almost got into a fight with the director of photography for messing up a take.
Russel Crowe
Russel Crowe has been notorious for his attitude on set, which hasn’t stopped him from getting Oscars. His biggest problem, aside from excessive demands, is his poor anger management.
Crowe gets very, very angry when he doesn’t get what he wants. In fact, he has called producer Branko Lustig once at 3 AM just to insult him. Lustig felt threatened by Crowe and decided to quit so he wouldn’t have to see him again.
Teri Hatcher
Teri Hatcher was one of the leads on Desperate Housewives, and allegedly, she didn’t get along with any of the other housewives. In fact, co-star Nicollette Sheridan said Hatcher was the meanest woman in the world.
During the nine years that the show lasted, Hatcher couldn’t manage to redeem herself, and everyone was very happy when production wrapped up because it meant they wouldn’t have to deal with her attitude anymore.
Steven Seagal
Steven Seagal‘s reputation has been damaged to the point where he doesn’t get any important roles anymore – and it’s probably better this way. He has done worse things than being moody or demanding.
In fact, there are reports of Seagal’s physically abusing cast and crew members, even kicking someone in…. there. And anyone who dared to defy him would get beaten up. Yikes.
Joaquin Phoenix
Joaquin Phoenix is simultaneously the nicest person in the world and a rude diva, depending on who you talk to. However, he has admitted to displaying some strange behavior on set and has apologized.
It was revealed that, during the production of Joker, Phoenix stormed off the set in anger. The truth is that the physical and emotional toll that the character took on him caused him to behave erratically.
Val Kilmer
Val Kilmer has been labeled difficult to work with many times for many different reasons. For example, he got fired from The Island of Dr. Moreau after spending only three days on set.
Childish, impossible, and moody, are just some of the names he has been called by co-stars. He has since apologized for his behavior, but his reputation has already been tainted.
Marlon Brando
It is a known fact that Marlon Brando got progressively more difficult to work with as the years went by. This is because, as he reached an older age, he became less motivated to work and just lost his passion for acting.
He infamously showed up to the set of The Island of Dr. Moreau without having read any of his lines and had to have his lines fed through an earpiece. He did the same thing on Apocalypse Now, which almost drove Francis Ford Coppola insane.
Kirk Cameron
You might remember Kirk Cameron as the fresh-faced teenager in Growing Pains, and that’s pretty much all the relevant work he has done in his all career, thanks to his awful attitude and distasteful comments.
He allegedly spent most of his time judging co-star’s private lives and requested script revisions to make the script fit more accordingly to his strict religious beliefs. He has also made very strong homophobic remarks.
Sean Young
Sean Young‘s career came as fast as it disappeared. She became a household name in the 80’s thanks to her lead role alongside Harrison Ford in Blade Runner, but rumors about her attitude on set tarnished her reputation forever.
James Woods actually sued her for leaving a disfigured doll outside his house to terrorize him. She also slapped a security guard and was fired from the movie Wall Street. After that, nobody wanted to hire her anymore.
Shia LaBeouf
Shia LaBeouf seemed to have everything going for him when he landed the main role in the Transformers franchise, but his success was very short-lived thanks to his rotten attitude.
According to different sources, LaBeouf’s erratic behavior got so bad he even got into a fight with Tom Hardy during production of Lawless. Because of that and other incidents, his career never recovered.
Lea Michele
It is no secret that Lea Michele is very similar to Rachel, the character she played on Glee. In other words, she is a huge diva with a massive ego. According to co-star Naya Rivera, Michele would throw fists and lock herself in her trailer.
Rivera also accused her of leaking stories to the press for attention. Michele never responded to Rivera’s allegations, but other people who have worked with her say they are true.
Isaiah Washington
If you don’t recognize Isaiah Washington, it’s probably because he destroyed his own career in a matter of seconds. He briefly played Dr. Preston Burke on Grey’s Anatomy and had a lot to say about one of his co-stars.
One time, Washington called his co-star, T.R. Knight a homophobic slur on set. This was more than enough to kick him off the show.
Lindsay Lohan
Listing all of Lindsay Lohan‘s antics would take forever, and since most people are familiar with the status of her reputation, we don’t need to. Aside from her multiple run-ins with the law, she was blacklisted in Hollywood for years because of her on-set behavior.
Not showing up, being grossly late, making ridiculous demands, and just being overall difficult are some of the things that cast and crew members have said about her. She has cleaned up her act a couple of years ago, however. Do you think she’ll go back to her old ways?
