What Is The Cast of 'The Matrix' Doing Now?

20. One More Matrix

A great surprise is that, even though the sequels released after The Matrix were not popular, we will see a fourth installment of the franchise, directed by the Wachowskis. Of course, we’ll get to see many of the favorite stars in the original movie, such as Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss.
Until then, let’s check them all out in the next pages.

19. Keanu Reeves as Thomas “Neo” Anderson

Keanu’s role in the movie was to impersonate a computer programmer and hacker. His name is Thomas “Neo” Anderson.
However, before becoming famous with his role in The Matrix, Reeves also starred in “The Replacements,” “The Watcher,” and “The Gift.” More recently, he’s made headlines all over the world!

18. “The Keanaissance”

Keanu Reeves is a beloved celebrity because collectively known to be a kind and humble person. He’s also an incredible actor, playing in the John Wick franchise, making an appearance in Netflix’s “Always Be My Maybe” – which we loved and played on repeat! He’s also worked with gaming company CD Projekt Red, where he’s a cyborg that helps players during a mission.
The production of the fourth Matrix will begin in 2020, so we’ll just have to wait and see him pick up the role once again. One thing is true: Keanu Reeves is breathtaking!

17. Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity

Part of the Nebuchadnezzar crew, Trinity fell in love with Neo.
Carrie-Anne Moss also played in “Memento,” as Natalie, she was Detective Olivia Neal in “The Crew,” and Caroline Clairmont in “Chocolat.” Lately, she’s been a regular of Marvel Comics’ TV Series…

16. The Marvel Comics Phase

Moss has recently taken a lot of roles in several Marvel Comics TV series: “Daredevil,” “Iron Fist,” “The Defenders,” and “Jessica Jones,” – in which she played as lawyer Jeri Hogarth. She also played the role of an FBI agent in “Wisting.”
We expect to see her in the fourth Matrix movie.

15. Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus

Morpheus was the captain of the Nebuchadnezzar, giving Neo the choice of discovering what Matrix really is.
According to Gaiman’s blog, The Wachowskis asked Fishburne to read more about Neil Gaiman’s comics “Sandman,” and get inspired for his character in the Matrix.

14. Laurence Fishburne Today

After wrapping up the last Matrix, we’ve seen Fishburne play as Bowery King in the “John Wick” films. Fishburne also starred in “Roots,” as Alex Haley, as Nelson Mandela on “Madiba,” and Pops in “Grown-ish” and “Black-ish.” There is no word on him making an appearance in the fourth Matrix movie.

13. Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith

Agent Smith was the intelligent and sentient computer that kept humans from waking up and freeing themselves from the Matrix. Hugo Weaving enjoyed his role, saying that he could dip into humor because he didn’t play the role of the hero:
“I have much more scope with my character to be funny. You could see it in the writing — it attracted me to that character.”

12. Hugo Weaving, The Villain

He’s had so much fun playing the villain that he took villain roles in “V for Vendetta” and “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
We also know him from “The Lord Of The Rings” trilogy and “The Hobbit,” where he played as the elf Elrond.

11. Joe Pantoliano as Cypher

Cypher is one of the humans that Morpheus freed, but he later betrayed Morpheus to go back to the Matrix. Joe Pantoliano has worked with the Wachowskis a few years before The Matrix in Bound. Then in 2000, he joined Moss in Memento. What’s he been up to lately?

10. Pantoliano’s Big 2020 Role

Recently, Pantoliano has starred in “The Sopranos” and “Sense8.”
There are no details about him coming in the next Matrix, but we know we’ll see him in 2020 as Captain Howard in “Bad Boys For Life.” He also has a lot more projects in the next years.

9. Belinda McClory as Switch

Belinda McClory played Switch in the Matrix, and she too was a freed human that joined the Nebuchadnezzar crew.
Before appearing in Matrix, she had several roles in TV Shows, such as “Janus,” “Simon De Beauvoir’s Babies,” and “Blue Heelers.”

8. Belinda McClory Today

After the Matrix, Belinda starred in “Darklovestory” and “X: Night of Vengeance.” We’ve also recently seen her in “The Doctor Blake” TV series.

Since Matrix, Taylor played in “Vertical Limit,” as Skip Taylor, Everett in “Rogue,” and as Heller in “The Meg.”

3. Marcus Chong as Tank

Tank was the operator of the ship that helped Neo learn Kung Fu. He only showed up in the first film, being later replaced by Harold Perrineau’s Link.
After Matrix, Chong has made several appearances in “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “Numb3rs,” and “Burn Notice.” He was also in “The Crow: Wicked Prayer.”

2. Anthony Ray Parker as Dozer

Dozer was Tank’s brother, who didn’t show up in the next Matrix movies because his character was killed in the first one, by Cypher when he betrayed the crew.
Outside the Matrix, we’ve heard Anthony Ray Parker in many Power Rangers series, where he was a voice actor. Most recently, he had a role in “Muse” (2017) and “Lone Star Deception” (2018). He’s set to show up in the horror film “Hoax” and the sci-fi “Ara.”

1. Julian Arahanga as Apoc

Apoc was the character in Matrix where he just stood a bit in the background and hasn’t done much, except lament that terrible food he had to eat.
We’ve seen him in “Fracture” (2004), “The Ferryman” (2007), and most recently has decided his passion is to actually be behind cameras and direct.
