#30. Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction
One fun fact that many people don’t know about these Tarantino classics is something that actually connects both movies.
In Reservoir Dogs, Steve Buscemi‘s character doesn’t leave tips for waiters. Then, in Pulp Fiction, he plays a waiter. This detail is meant to show how karma works in Tarantino’s universe.
#29. Star Trek
The world can’t have enough of Star Wars, and director JJ Abrams agrees. He was a huge fan of the franchise long before he took on the project to direct the new movies, and Star Trek proves it.
In this scene a special character from Star Wars can be seen briefly floating in space. Did you catch it? Yes! It’s none but R2D2.
#28. Inside Out
Inside Out follows the story of Riley, a young girl, and her emotions, which live inside her head. What many people don’t know, is that each emotion is shaped to represent a physical manifestation of what they are.
Joy is shaped like a star and Sadness is shaped like a teardrop. The rest are less obvious, however. Fear is modeled after a frayed nerve, Anger is shaped as a fire brick, and Disgust is inspired by broccoli.
#27. Straight Outta Compton
Straight Outta Compton is based on the story of gangster rap group N.W.A. and its members, Eazy-E, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. The actor who plays Ice Cube is actually his son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and in the movie, he pays homeage to his father.
In one scene, the character throws a woman out of a party and says “Bye, Felicia“, an iconic catchphrase from Friday, a cult-classic comedy starred by his father.
#26. Toy Story 3
In the first Toy Story film, Woody and Buzz are trapped in the room of Sid, a kid that loves destroying toys. What many people failed to notice is that he makes an appearance in the third movie.
He can be spotted working as a garbage man, wearing the same shirt he had on the first movie. He’s all grown up!
#25. Fight Club
If you pay attention while watching Fight Club, you’ll see there is one thing that appears on every single scene: a Starbucks cup.
This was a statement from director David Fincher, about how Starbucks stores kept popping up everywhere.
#24. Frozen
Disney is known for leaving Easter eggs everywhere, and Frozen was no exception. If you look closely, in the scene of Elsa‘s coronation, you can spot two characters from another film.
They are none other than Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled, and they can be seen for a split second, passing by on the left-hand side corner.
#23. Back to the Future 2
When Marty McFly travels to the year 2015, he walks past a movie theater where there’s a big advertisement for Jaws 19, a fake sequel to the original movie directed by Steven Spielberg, but that’s not all.
On the right side, it says “Directed by Max Spielberg” who is actually Spielberg’s son in real life.
#22. Mad Max: Fury Road
The fourth statement of the Mad Max franchise spent years in the development phase, and was finally released 20 years after its predecessor.
Because of such delay, the title role previously played by Mel Gibson was taken by Tom Hardy. To pay tribute to Gibson, Hardy wears a replica of the jacket that he wore in the previous films.
#21. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
J.J. Abrams has honoured his grandfather, named Kelvin, in many of his movies. So when he directed The Force Awakens, he found a way to include his grandpa’s name in it.
In the movie, Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, mentions that she’s taking a droid named BB-8 to a safe place that is “in the direction of Kelvin Ridge“.
#20. The Birds
Alfred Hitchcock had a habit of making small cameos in his movies. So much so, that he can actually be seen in 39 of his 52 movies.
In The Birds, he can be seen walking out of a pet store walking two terriers, which were actually his real-life pets, Geoffrey and Stanley.
#19. King Kong
In King Kong, Jack Black‘s character, Carl Denham, receives a message warning him that there’s a warrant out for his arrest.
The message, however, is delivered by Morse code, and, if decoded, it actually says: “Show me the monkey!”.
#18. The Departed
The Martin Socrsese mob movie is full of deaths, and the director actually leaves out clues as to which characters are going to kick the bucket.
“Xs” can be seen around those who die, while those who don’t die are shown in front of straight lines instead.
#17. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
During the filming of the movie, the cast had an actual egg hunt on set, and, allegedly, at least three eggs weren’t found.
Those eggs that weren’t discovered ended up in the movie, and it is said that this is where the term “Easter egg” comes from.
#16. Titanic
Director James Cameron wanted every detail of the actual Titanic to be recreated to a T.
If you look closely, you may notice that, although the ship has four exhaust pipes only three of the work, which was a true fact in the real-life ship.
#15. Catch Me If You Can
The movie follows the story of real-life con man Frank Abagnale, who posed as a pilot, doctor, and prosecutor, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
The real Frank Abagnale, however, made a cameo in the movie. Ironically, he plays one of the police officers that arrest DiCaprio.
#14. Toy Story
When Buzz and Woody are trapped in Sid‘s house, they can be seen walking over a carpet with a distinct pattern, and this is no minor detail.
The pattern of the carpet is the same shown in cult horror film The Shining, to give the scene a more sinister tone.
#13. Back To The Future
Before Marty travels to the past, a mall named Twin Pines Mall can be seen in the background. Then, when he travels to the past, two pine trees can be seen on that same spot instead, but that’s not all.
When he tries to escape the past, he runs over one of the trees with his DeLorean. Then, when he’s back to the future, the mall’s name changes to Lone Pine Mall.
#12. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
Steven Spielberg decided to pay tribute to George Lucas‘ Star Wars in his movie E.T.
In one scene, E.T. can be seen crossing paths with Yoda when he’s going trick-or-treating.
#11. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace
In return for Spielberg‘s tribute, Lucas decided to honor his fellow director in The Phantom Menace.
A trio of E.T.s can be seen sitting as part of the galactic senate in the movie. Did you ever notice?
#10. Jurassic World
In the original Jurassic Park movie, the park director, Dr. John Hammond, wears all white.
Then, in Jurassic World, Claire Dearing, the park director in the movie, also wears all white, and this is no coincidence.
#9. The Martian
Director Sir Ridley Scott acknowledges one of his sci-fi classics in this film only by inserting a short sentence- actually, half of it- to make his long-time fans have a giggle.
Kate Mara‘s character, Beth, tells Sebastian Stan‘s character, Beck, to be careful because “in space…“. This unfinished phrase comes from Alien‘s famous tagline: “In space, no one can hear you scream“.
#8. Avengers: Age of Ultron
Since Marvel became part of the Disney family, there have been a couple instances where these two became intertwined.
For example, in Age of Ultron, Iron Man needs a new A.I. system for his suit, and one of the options he browses is labeled “Tadashi“, which is the same system used by Baymax, the loveable robot from Disney’s Big Hero 6.
#7. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
The various Mission Impossible films have no connection with each other, and all stories stand alone. That was until Rogue Nation came out.
In Ghost Protocol, the heroes are tasked to hunt down an operation known as “the Syndicaate“. Years later, Rogue Nation was released, and the same group is tracking down the same cast of villains.

The sci-fi classic has a great Easter egg hidden in one particular scene, but you gotta keep your eyes open to catch it.
There’s a scene where the characters are looking at a screen, and a tiny game of Pac-man can be seen on the right-hand side corner.
#5. The Matrix
At the end of the first movie of the trilogy, Neo (Keanu Reeves) makes a call to the machines from a phone booth. Sounds like a pretty uninteresting detail, right?
Well, at the end of the last film, that same phone booth and intersection can be seen as Neo and Agent Smith fall from the sky and crash into the ground.
#4. Hidden Mickey
At this point, there’s no Disney movie without a hidden detail. Even more so, there’s no Disney movie that doesn’t contain a hidden Mickey Mouse in it.
Snow White, Cinderella, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin…the list goes on and on. Just keep your eyes open next time you’re watching a Disney flick!
#3. Inglorious Basterds
Yet another Tarantino movie made it to our list. In this case, we’re looking at Inglorious Basterds, a movie centered in Nazi Germany.
In one scene in particular, a leaf falls onto a Jewish soldier, which looks like a Yellow Star of David, which is what Jewish people were forced to wear on the left side of their chest at that time.
#2. Batman v Superman in I Am Legend
Almost ten years before the actual Batman v Superman was released, a poster promoting the movie can be seen in I Am Legend. But how is this possible?
The truth is, that Batman v Superman had been in the making for many years, and I Am Legend writer and producer Akiva Goldsman wrote a very early draft of Batman v Superman that never got made, so he decided to include it in the movie.
#1. Raiders of the Lost Ark
George Lucas, creator of Star Wars, was the executive producer of the Indiana Jones movie, and this didn’t go unnoticed.
There’s a scene where Indiana Jones stands next to a pillar with hieroglyphs, where RD-D2 and C-3PO can be seen- the names two of Lucas’ most famous Star Wars characters.
