She Got Hospitalized
Marissa was counting days for Urban's concert but her health started to look bad just a couple of days before the concert.
Marissa suffers from cerebral palsy (which is a group of moving disorders), as well as severe scoliosis and she have recently developed a brain cyst. Things weren't going well...

Marissa's health was not getting any better and ultimately she wasn't able to attend the concert of Urban. She was devastated as she waited months for this moment and now it was gone...

They promised to bring Urban to visit Marissa as it was obvious that Marissa would be extremely surprised and it would make her happier than ever.
Social Media Campaign
The two nurses decided to start a crazy social media campaign, doing anything that they could to get Urban's attention.
The campaign soon took off and it was reaching a larger audience as more time was passing by.
Did He Notice Them?
"They started a social media blitz that just took off like crazy to get Keith’s attention,” the girl’s mom, Marlise Matthews said.
Urban's fan bases were uniting and Marissa's chances were increasing. Finally it happened!
Urban Finally Saw Her
Urban not only noticed them but he immediately scheduled a meeting with Marissa and the nurses at Mercy Health St. Vincent Hospital.
The nurses were ecstatic and run to inform Marissa who could not believe that this was happening!
It Was Important For Her
“We knew how important it was to Marissa to be at that concert tonight and since she wasn’t able to, we were hoping to try and find some way to have Keith make a connection with her,” nurse Jan Cassity said.
A few days later Urban knocked the door of Marissa's hospital room.
Before His Concert
Urban finally met Marissa who was happier than ever to meet her beloved musician and idol.
She could not believe that Keith Urban himself was paying this very special visit only for her. Urban decided to do something even more special.
He Sang To Her
Urban decided to make his visit even more memorable for Marissa. He performed Marissa's favorite tune “Blue Ain’t Your Color.”.
Marissa could not get enough of it.
A Breath
Urban's visit was like a breath of fresh air for Marissa.
The last months had been tough for her as she had been battling her symptoms in ICU. Urban's visit seemed to be a dream come true for her.
Therapeutic
Except for giving her the experience of her life, Urban's visit turned out to give Marissa hope and will to fight for a right to a good life. “The visit was truly amazing,” Matthews added.
“She calmed down so much while he was here.”, a nurse said. “Her heart rate dropped a lot, and her blood pressure was the best that it had been in days.”
Her Face Lighted Up
As Marissa's sister put it, Marissa's whole face lit up and she wanted to talk and sing with Urban.
She was smiling more than any other time. One of the most difficult things to do had just been removed from her bucket list.
Time To Go
After some time, it was time for Urban to leave. Marissa wished him good luck and thanked him for his visit.
Marissa wasn't sad about missing the concert anymore... She had just attended her very own special gig.

Urban's show in Ohio was a big success and he decided to let people know about Marissa.
He gave her a very special mention and said that he consider her to be his biggest fan!
Emotional Moment
It was a very emotional moment for Urban, to mention Marissa before a sold-out venue. “It was so emotional,” said Matthews, who attended the concert.
“The whole venue broke out in applause … A lot of tears from everyone there.”

Later, Urban decided that this incident had to reach as many people as possible.
He was moved and inspired by Marissa's persistence.

Her One Wish
At the end of the day, Marissa's wish was fulfilled. She may have missed the big concert but she got her very own performance that no one but Urban could offer to her.
"We keep praying that Marissa will pull through this illness, but if that is not the end result, we are beyond thankful that she got her one and only wish she talked about everyday of her life. ", Urban said.
