George Clooney, who has been Pitt’s friend for years and has worked with him on multiple movies, was really taken aback when he heard the news. The actor found out about Brangelina’s divorce during an appearance at the United Nations General Assembly on September 20, 2016.

“I didn’t know that! I feel very sorry, then. That’s a sad story and unfortunate for a family; it’s an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that. This is the first I’ve heard of it,” said Clooney.

Back in 2016, at the London premiere of her new film, The Girl on the Train, Emily Blunt was asked for her thoughts on Brad and Angelina’s divorce. This is what she said to the Associated Press:

“It’s their business, and it’s not for anybody else to comment on.”

On the same topic, her co-star, Luke Evans said that it was very hard to hear the news about Brangelina. The director of their movie, on the other hand, took a more aggressive stance on the matters and put bigger issues on the table, rather than a couples breakup:

“Frankly, with all that’s going on in the world, I just think it’s a shame that’s even talked about. They’re just two people breaking up. There’s bigger fish to fry right now.”

Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopie and Angelina go way back. They have starred together in American psychological drama film Girl, interrupted, in 1999. So maybe that’s why she was highly criticized for her reaction to Angelina’s divorce. Some people felt Goldberg was mocking the situation, when on The View, she pretended to cry after she heard the news.

Later, Golberg took to Twitter to explain her reaction and clear the air. The actress said that the information regarding the divorce (when she heard it) was unsubstantiated and therefore gossip.

“So the idea that anyone would think that I was making fun of the possible divorce without knowing if it was even possible doesn’t make sense,” she added.
