Abandoned Dog
This is the story of a little guy called Snowflake. One day, this cute puppy appeared on the steps of a school where a janitor found him. He was inside a cardboard box, but the janitor noticed something strange.
It turns out that someone had written a message on a white paper and had glued it to the box. But before showing you the message, let’s see how the janitor found this abandoned puppy.
Late Night Shift
It was a regular weekday in the American city of Detroit, and a school janitor was finishing his late night shift. He still had one hallway to clean, and after going through with this he could go home.
The nights were the best moment of the day for him since it was when he got to clock in and go to relax in his cozy home. However, this late night shift was different than the others.
Hard Work
The janitor was focused on the job since he wanted to clean the last hallway and get home as fast as he could. However, something was disturbing him.
He was used to working under a deathly silence, but this time, he heard a noise that left him startled. There was some strange animal who was making growling noises outside the hallway.
The Job Is Done
The janitor finished his job and he decided to go and check out what was making that noise. He was a bit scared at the thought of encountering a wild animal, even though he was well aware that it was highly unlikely.
However, his jaw dropped when he opened the door and saw the tiny and helpless animal that was lying on the school’s front steps. You’ll definitely feel touched by the following picture!
Abandoned Puppy
The animal who was making the weird growling noises was an abandoned puppy. The sad puppy was scared and he was all alone, this is why he was making so much noise…he was just asking for help.
The picture above was taken just a couple of days after this incident. It’s funny to think that this tiny creature had actually made the janitor feel scared at first!
Freezing Winter
One of the saddest things about the abandoned dog was that it was freezing cold outside. So that had probably been the reason behind his growling.
The janitor didn’t know what to do when he found the puppy, but he realized that he couldn’t just leave him outside in the snow.
Sad Puppy
What is more, the janitor just couldn’t help but feel touched by the dog’s expressions. For instance, the following picture was taken that very same night. Look at his face: he definitely looks sad, almost as if he were aware that his owner has abandoned him and that he was now homeless. Isn’t this heartbreaking?
Well, believe it or not, the following picture is even more moving than this one. Let’s take a look at the message that had been glued to the box where the puppy was hiding.
The Message
This is the message that the puppy’s previous owner has left for the person who finds him. “Please do let it go find it a nice home” are the final words.
The janitor was heartbroken when he read the message, and he knew that he had to take matters into his own hands.
Calling For Help
The janitor lifted the box and carried the puppy inside the school. He was aware that he had to seek some help. After all, he had two babies back home, so he was well aware that he would not be capable of taking care of him.
The janitor grabbed his phone and called one of the teachers who was known for being a dog-lover. The janitor thought to himself that since the teacher had so many dogs, maybe she would adopt this one as well.
Sweet Puppy
The teacher came to the school as fast as she could and her heart melted when she saw the little puppy. After all, who wouldn’t feel touched?
But even though she wanted to adopt him, her house was already full: she had five dogs of her own, and she just couldn’t afford to take one more puppy in.
Special Care
The teacher couldn’t adopt the little puppy, but she wasn’t going to leave him on the streets to freeze either. Luckily, she came up with a solution.
She knew an animal foster home that would take the puppy in and provide him with all the care and love that he needed.
Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue
But first, they had to come up with a name. The teacher named the little doggy Snowflake, considering that he had been found in the middle of a terribly snowy day.
Then, she and the janitor took little Snowflake to the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue. Check out the next picture to see what this organization is about.
Animal Shelter
The Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue organization takes in stray, injured, pregnant and destitute dogs and helps them find homes. Detroit is full of stray dogs, so generally, there isn’t much room in the organization’s building.
The organization also makes sure that every dog they rescue has all the basic vaccinations before they give them for adoption. Without a doubt, the teacher did the right thing by taking Snowflake to the Dog Rescue.
Searching For Snowflake
The Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue fed Snowflake delicious food and the staff started posting pictures of him on social media.
They were hoping that someone had lost this dog and would thus find him thanks to the Facebook and Twitter posts. According to the organization’s staff, it’s quite normal for puppies to escape and get lost in the streets, and it’s also common for strangers to put the abandoned puppies inside a cardboard box.
Adoptive Home
But even though no one might come to pick Snowflake up, we can be sure that this adorable doggy is going to find a home really fast.
In fact, after the dogs from the shelter are taken to the vet, they are generally placed in either a temporary foster home or in one of the shelters and rescues that they are partnered with. But we can certainly be sure that Snowflake won’t end up in the streets again.
New Friends
To make things even better, Snowflake has started making lots of friends at the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue organization. The dog is getting all the love that he needs and deserves.

While this started off as a sad story, Snowflake is now safe and sound. Besides, he will surely find an adoptive home in no time. But take a look at the pictures below: did you see how many toys he has?

Puppy Eyes
Just look those puppy eyes, isn’t Snowflake just the most adorable puppy ever? It’s a real shame that the person who put Snowflake in the box wasn’t able to keep him anymore, but I’m pretty sure he’s enjoying his time in the foster home with his brand new Christmas clothes!
Let’s hope that the new family that Snowflake finds will love him and provide as much care as he is currently receiving in the shelter.
The Animal Shelter
In this sense, we have to give praise to the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue animal shelter for putting it all on the line to help unwanted pets. Their rescue team spends most days out in the streets, trapping strays and rescuing dogs out of desperate situations.
But not only this: they also rescue dogs that have been used for dog fighting or as bait dogs in dog fighting rings. The people who volunteer there are amazing and there’s no doubt about that.
Cutest Puppy Ever

I don’t know about you, but if I lived closer to Detroit, I would definitely consider contacting the shelter and finding out which dogs are up for adoption. You can do the same with your home town’s animal shelter if there happens to be any.
Because even though there are hundreds of vet shops that have dogs for sale, there are thousands of them in need of love, care and affection, just like Snowflake… and for free!
