Famous people will forever remain in our thoughts even though they have passed away long ago. They’re not immortal, and we easily forget they can also die like the rest of us. Even if their world is different from ours, in the end, celebrities go to the same place when they die. 19. CHESTER BENNINGTON
A smiling person just days before his death is a reminder that depression and addiction are not always noticed even by the ones close to you. Chester Bennington was open about his struggles, but nobody thought that he would commit suicide. At just 41 years old, he committed suicide, just days before he said that he wrote six new songs and telling Rene Mata that they had “to stick together, and we have so much to live for.”
18. HEATH LEDGER
We cried out hearts out when we heard that Heath Ledger died on January 22nd, 2008. It was a grim day for everyone who’s been following his acting career. He was filming his last role in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” when he was found dead in his apartment after he accidentally overdosed from prescription medication.
17. TUPAC SHAKUR
Just moments before Tupac was shot, this photo was taken in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 7, 1996. He was shot six times and days later died at the hospital. Soon after the shooting, the rival The Notorious B.I.G was said to have been involved, but Tupac’s case is still unsolved.

16. PAUL WALKER
Right before leaving a charity event, Paul Walker got in a red Porsche, with Roger Rodas at the driver. Later, the two would die in a crash, hitting a concrete lamp post and catching fire. According to the investigation, the car had a speed between 80 mph (130 km/h) and 93 mph (150 km/h), but the main reason of the accident was old tires.

15. FREDDIE MERCURY
Lead singer Queen’s last photo was taken in 1991. Before he died, he stated that he indeed had AIDS and kept it private to protect the privacy of the ones around him. He added that he hopes everyone to join the fight against the disease. He died 24 hours after the statement from bronchopneumonia.
14. JOHN LENNON
This photo is foreboding, showing John Lennon signing an autograph for Mark David Chapman, his shooter. After the Beatles star signed the album, he asked Chapman: “Is this all you want?” The man smiled and nodded, but four hours later, Chapman followed Lennon who was coming back home and fired five bullets into Lennon’s back. He died after he got to the hospital.
13. NIKOLA TESLA
Perhaps one of the most heartbreaking ends, Nicola Tesla’s death was in a hotel, on 7 January 1943. The accomplished scientist, inventor, and physicist had a tortured end. He was penniless by the end of his life and became a vegetarian. He only drank milk, bread, honey, and vegetable juice. He spent his last days with pigeons in the park and the nights trying to solve scientific problems.
12. JAMES DEAN
The last photo of James Dean was taken the day he died. He loved race cars, but this Porsche got crashed when he tried to avoid a car on September 30, 1955. Seven days before Dean died, he showed the vehicle to the British actor Alec Guinness, who responded: “If you get in that car, you will be found dead in it by this time next week.”
11. AMY WINEHOUSE
Eleven days before her death, Amy Winehouse was walking in London. On 23 July 2011, she was found dead at her home. The coroner’s verdict was accidental alcohol poisoning. Because of her bulimia, the alcohol had a stronger effect, on her weak body, explained her brother. “Had she not had an eating disorder, she would have been physically stronger,” he concluded.
10. MARTIN LUTHER KING
Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was in Memphis, Tennessee. He was standing with other civil rights leaders on the balcony at the Lorraine Motel. It happened on 3 April 1968, just a day before he was killed almost in the same place by James Earl Ray. The photo on the right was right after he was shot. King was taken to the hospital, but not even cardiopulmonary resuscitation could bring him back.
Even bad men are famous, and Adolf Hitler is definitely a name you’ve heard at least once in your life. In this photo, he was looking at the events right after a bomb strike outside the Berlin bunker. Next to him is Julius Schaub, his adjutant. Two days later, he would be found dead in his bunker by members of the Nazi party. Their leader bit down on a cyanide capsule and shot himself in the head on 30 April 1945.
8. ROBIN WILLIAMS
Twenty days before he died, Robin Williams posted a photo of him and his monkey Crystal. It was his birthday – he turned 63. Unfortunately, a misdiagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease instead of a type of dementia ended with him having severe paranoia days before he committed suicide by hanging.
7. CARRIE FISHER
The past years have been tough for all the movie stars and their fans who witnessed their favorite people in the whole world passing away. Carrie Fisher was among them. She was boarding a flight to Los Angeles, and this photo was taken a day before that. On the plane, she had a heart attack. Four days later, Carrie Fisher passed away.
6. STEVE JOBS
Steve Jobs died on 5 October, in 2011, in California. The photo was taken a few days before he passed away. His pancreatic cancer relapsed and got complicated. With his family by his side, Jobs’ last words were “oh wow, oh wow, oh wow.”
He was buried at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, in an unmarked grave.
5. MARILYN MONROE
Just before she died, the 36-year-old diva was posing with jazz pianist Buddy Greco in 1962. Days later, she was found dead in her home by her psychiatrist. Marilyn Monroe had depression, anxiety, chronic insomnia, and low self-esteem for many years. Her death was believed to be a suicide, judging by the barbiturates and previous overdoses.
4. ANNE FRANK
In 1942, this photo of Anne Frank and her sister Margot was one of the last ones of her alive. She and her family were found and arrested on 4 August in 1944. She got to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where she died in March 1945.
3. JIMI HENDRIX
Jimi Hendrix poses with his favorite guitar ‘Black Betty’ on 17 September 1970. His girlfriend Monika Danneman took the photo in the garden of her apartment right a day before he died. Hendrix’ death was not believed to be a suicide, although the media speculates it after the report according to which the star died of a barbiturate-related asphyxia.
2. DAVID BOWIE
The final public appearance of the singer was on 7 December 2015, at the Theatre Workshop in New York, at the premiere of his musical “Lazarus.” He had liver cancer for a year, which was in the last stage. In his last album “Blackstar,” his references to death appear to have shown that he came to terms with his approaching death…
1. ALAN RICKMAN
Another famous and loved man that lost his battle with cancer was Alan Rickman. In August 2015, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas but kept it private. On 14th January 2016, he passed away. He will forever be missed and loved. “ALWAYS.”
