Our story starts when a young woman noticed that a raccoon keeps showing up in her backyard. The woman fed him once, but while she hoped that giving him food would be a one-time thing, he kept coming for more!

Great Friends

One day, the raccoon didn't come alone! This time he had a bodyguard with him and it was a black cat!

At first, the woman thought that the cat was simply hungry and that there wasn't something special about its presence.
Therefore, the first day she just ignored the feline. But when she found out the truth, she was left baffled!

The woman realized that the cat would keep on following the raccoon, and a few days later, she understood that the cat was the raccoon's guide!

The Bodyguard

The first time she noticed this, the woman couldn't believe what she was seeing, so during the following days, each time she put some food on the porch, she would stand just a couple of meters away just to see what would happen next. And guess what?

Day after day, the cat would help the raccoon go up the steps and get to the food.
The two friends would share the bowl of food that was set on the porch and they would leave as soon as they finished. But you won't believe what happened next!
Another Cat Shows Up
After a few days, another black cat showed up out of nowhere. The woman, who saw everything from her living room window, couldn't believe what was happening.
The other black cat was also helping the raccoon find his way to the forest.
Leading The Way
With the cats leading the way, the blind raccoon had nothing to worry about. They would both escort him across the backyard, one on each side.
This amazing adventure seemed to be taken from a Disney movie, don't you think?
Three Best Friends
From the looks of it, these animals were just three best friends looking out for each other.
While this friendship was definitely strange, the woman could not help but feel touched and startled at the same time.
To The Woods
The woman understood that the raccoon really needed the cats' guidance, so she began leaving some extra amount of food for the three to feed on.
Thus, the black cats started showing up on the porch on a regular basis as well. But this is not all! You won't believe what the woman did next.
Adopting The Stray Cats
After realizing how helpful and nice the stray cats were to her beloved raccoon, she decided to adopt them. Isn't that amazing?
She took them to the vet for some checkups, and now they have their own bed in the living room. Let's see how being house cats suits them!
Happy Cats
The two cats were super happy that they finally had a home and someone who loved them. Nonetheless, the thing that made the woman take these two black cats in is how much they cared for that poor raccoon.
For nearly four years, the raccoon would show up at the woman's house on a daily basis, and the two cats would play with him for a while.
The Raccoon Passed Away
The raccoon passed away in 2015 and he lived for at least five years. Even though everyone was heartbroken by the news, the life span of an average raccoon is three years and this means that this blind fellow had it better than most.
