Paying your bills on time is very important. You do not want to ruin your credit or reputation with service providers just because you paid a few bills late. There are many different things you can do to make sure that you pay all of your bills on time.
Start out by taking a look at how much money you make and how much your total monthly bills are. You will need to set up a budget for yourself so that you are sure that you will have enough money to pay your bills once they come in. Write down the amount of all of your monthly bills on a piece of paper. Round up for bills that are not the same every month (gas, electric, etc). Once you have all these amounts on a piece of paper, add them up to see your total monthly bills. Be sure to include gas for your car, groceries and any other expenses that you will be required to pay.
Now take this number and divide it by the number of times that you get paid each month. So if you get paid every week, divide this number by 4, if you get paid biweekly then divide it by 2. This is the amount of money that you will need to put back out of each check to make sure that you are able to pay your bills on time. Round this number up so that you are sure you will have enough money.
Check your mail every day and pay your bills as soon as they come in. If you pay your bills the day that they come in, they will never be late. It may take you a few weeks to get situated with this system but once you have it in place, you will never pay your bills late again.
