Today round three of voting has begun for 107 constituencies in nine states and two union territories for its Lok Sabha. There are more than 144 million voters who will decide the fate of 1,567 candidates at this round of the poll. The Election Commission has deployed 200,000 electronic voting machines at 165,000 polling stations and 600,000 election officials for the polling.
There are so many political heavy weights whose fate will be decided by the voter in this round, some of them are Congress president Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareili in Uttar Pradesh and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani from Gandhinagar in Gujarat, former prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Sharad yadav, Gurudas Das Gupta and Jaswant singh.
Beside them youth brigade is also waiting for their chances like, Priya Dutt, Jyotiraditya Scindhiya etc. This is also one of the important phases in this election as this is the turn of some important states to decide who will rule the nation.
One of the main hurdles for voters who can stop people to vote is heat today. The mercury is very high today and there are few people queuing to cast their votes. Most parts of India today are facing one of the hottest day which is not good news for political parties as well as the voters. But the pictures of some senior citizens in Lucknow has given me some hope that more and more responsible people will come out and vote for their future government.
There were so many issues before the election at this time around like terrorism, economic slowdown and bad condition of farmers but sorry to say most political parties have forgotten these important issues and just fought for their personal rivalries.
Hope people of India will remember the key issues and vote according to that.
