States With Swine Flu

Symptoms of the flu include coughing and fever. You would see the same symptoms as you would for all other flu. People that went to Mexico brought back the flu in states like New York, where 10 students were infected with it. They also spread it to other people in New York. A lot of the US outbreaks were from people who went to Mexico. If you’re going to Mexico now, you should head back. Officials are warning people to stay away from Mexico unless it’s essential to travel. You could catch the flu and it’s a deadly strain. The strain has produced a less severe infection in the US. They don’t have a vaccine for it yet. They do have medicine called Tamiflu for it. The federal government sends out Tamiflu to states that have infections going on.

What states have had the outbreaks? The states are New York City, Ohio, California, Texas, Kansas, Michigan, Indiana, and South Dakota. If you live in one of these states, you should beware of infected people. It’s a good idea to wear a mask around people that are sick. If you’re sick, you can wear a mask to prevent the spread of the virus to your family or friends. It’s also a good idea to isolate yourself from the public until you get better. You can stay in your own room and don’t go out in public or don’t interact with people in your family until you’re well.

One best bet is to stay away from Mexico in the meantime until the virus disappears. States that are adjacent to Mexico have had the case because people traveled to Mexico. People from California or Texas travel to Mexico often and they will bring the flu back. This is something to keep in mind for the future as things like the flu or Salmonella have occurred often in Mexico or for any other foreign country like the previous bird flu. You should check your health to see if you have the flu if you just visit Mexico. You can get to the hospital if you’ve been infected.
