Princeton university is one of the best university in the world, held 6th rank in 2012-13, and in top universities by reputation, Princeton held 7th rank with 36.2 overall score.

The university was established in 1746 Elizabeth as the College of New Jersey, it is one of the nine Colonial Colleges that was  established before the American Revolution, and also the 4th  chartered institution of higher education in the American colonies. The university had been moved to three place, first one was Elizabeth, where the university was founded, second one was Newark, where the university was moved to in 1747, and third one is now New Jersey, where the university was moved to in 1756.

The University old name was College of New Jersey, but after that the name was changed from College of New Jersey to Princeton university in 1996.

Princeton university now provides undergraduate and graduate instruction in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering. It does not have schools of medicine, law, divinity, or business, but it does offer professional degrees through the

  • Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
  • The Princeton University School of Engineering and Applied Science.
  • The School of Architecture.

The institute has ties with the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton Theological Seminary, and the Westminster Choir College of Rider University. Princeton has been associated with 35 Nobel Laureates, 17 National Medal of Science winners, and three National Humanities Medal winners.
