Spanish car maker SEAT has been producing the Leon model since 1998. SEAT is now the youthful brand of the VW Group and the Leon is a great ambassador of what SEAT wants to achieve with its cars. The Leon has become very popular with young drivers looking for a trendy, stylish car that does not cost too much.

The current model of the Leon was launched in 2005; it comes with quite a few engine choices. The smallest engine is a 1.2 litre TSI unit that has 103 bhp; another TSI engine is the 1.4 litre that has 123 bhp. TSI engines use both supercharging and turbo charging to make small ends output similar power as larger engines. The current model of the Leon was launched in 2005; it comes with quite a few engine choices. Diesel options in the Leon include a 1.6 litre with 103 bhp, a 1.9 litre with either 89 or 103 bhp. The largest diesel unit is a 2.0 litre TDI with 168 bhp in the FR models. In some markets there is an LPG model that uses a 1.6 litre petrol engine and outputs 101 bhp.Diesel options in the Leon include a 1.6 litre with 103 bhp, a 1.9 litre with either 89 or 103 bhp. The FR and FR+ models are very exciting and now available at Seat dealer in Hampshire is the new SEAT Leon FR+ Supercopa. It uses a 2.0 TDI 170 PS engine and comes with a 6-speed manual, it costs £22,530.

The Supercopa is based on the FR+ model and comes with the addition of a body kit. The kit includes extensively re-worked front and rear bumpers, side skirts, a more pronounced tailgate spoiler, bespoke BBS 18-inch alloy wheels and unique chrome-tipped, twin exhausts and badging.

It looks like the Leon will continue to be popular with young drivers who like their cars to look fast and sporty, even the standard Leon looks aggressive and sporty. If I was a 20 year old I would definitely love to own one!
