Jamming! Jamming!

Just yesterday I was stuck in a terrible traffic jam. A journey which should have taken a maximum of forty minutes was prolonged to just under two hours due to roadworks taking place on a major route. Of course, as it was mothering Sunday the road was rather busier than normal and this just added to the problem. Traffic jams and travel chaos have become part of everyday life for commuters around the UK and whilst the government recognizes that something needs to change, they are not sure exactly how it is going to be funded.Of course, as it was mothering Sunday the road was rather busier than normal and this just added to the problem. In a recent report, David cameron  suggested that private investors are needed to get our roads to a better standard and to ease traffic build up in particularly congested areas. Of course, Cameron has recently come under much attack for his ignorance towards greener travel but he clearly states that there is nothing green about traffic jams. He says that we need to keep Harley Davidson UK cars moving to keep the economy moving and that we should be investing in the future of our road transport.

Of course there are also plans to get commuters and the transportation of goods off the road and onto rail links. Plans for a high speed train connecting Birmingham to London have recently been given the go ahead but again this has not been without controversy. Whilst many people will welcome the commute being cut by forty minutes, others oppose the disruption and noise pollution it will potentially bring to the surrounding countryside small villages.Of course there are also plans to get commuters and the transportation of goods off the road and onto rail links.
