These elements together constitute the positive energy ‘chi’ required for a healthy, prosperous and happy living. Yang, the masculine action oriented energy, and Ying, the feminine passive energy, are the two poles of chi. Fire and wood elements are masculine while water, metal and earth are feminine in nature. Balancing the pair of energy lays the foundation of Feng Shui.

Five Elements

Earth symbolizes patience, practicality and honesty. It’s good for land dealings, legacies and treasures. Earthen shades like brown and tan are the prominent hues pertaining to this element and is centrally placed within a structure.

Fire depicts prosperity, power and happiness. Also gives courage and enthusiasm thus, good for taking initiatives and leadership in any field. Southern direction is the fiery corner with red and orange as its prominent hues.

Water is related to emotional faculties of human like art in all forms. Northern direction is rules by it with major colours being blue and black.

Metal is mainly concerned with income, monetary gains and business. Ownership of west lies with this element. True metallic hues are silver and gold.

Wood makes a person socially aware, brainy and innovative. East is the woody corner with ruling shades being green, beige and light brown.

This esoteric science works towards rectification of already built homes, offices and other architectures. Most of the times, there is no structural change required during feng shui applications.
