Pillsbury Grands! Biscuit Sandwiches: Sausage & Cheese is a product that has been inconsistent for me.  I am not surprised because while I love and trust Pillsbury, not all of their products appeal to me.  Some of have been huge disappointments, and some have been delightfully delicious.  I just never really know.  I had high hopes for this fairly new breakfast meal because the first time I had it, I loved it.  It was fresh and light and oh so tasty!

However, the second time I tried it, my results were not as good.  The biscuit was harder and it just did not have the all around good taste of the first batch. I have continued to buy the product, and it has been hit and miss.  I do the same thing, but the quality of the cooked product varies.

I first bought Pillsbury Grands! Biscuit Sandwiches: Sausage & Cheese upon seeing it in with the breakfast foods at the grocery store.  It jumped out at me as I am always eager to find a good item that features a food combination like this.  It looks great on the package, too.

Specifically, this is combination of egg, cheese sauce, sausage, and a buttermilk biscuit.  The biscuit is so often the key, and I have found that not all biscuits microwave as well as the product claims.  This is especially true for Pillsbury meals. I do not have this issue with their traditional roll out bakery items, but it is always been a problem with anything that is microwaveable.

The times when these biscuits have turned out well, they are awesome and as light and fluffy as anticipated.  The other ingredients work together pretty well most of the time.  There is a trick to the sausage portion sometimes, but my issue is really with the biscuit.

I do like that the package gives cooking times based on three different ranges of microwave wattages.  It takes the guessing game out converting cook times for those who do not have the 1100 watt units.  It also has a special note for folks like me who prefer softer biscuits.

The package contains two servings each that total 280 calories.
