SSL send data in encrypted format between server and client. The data getting transferred from server to client or vice versa remains private and secure. SSL is being used in web applications to protect confidential transactions. Whenever there is any request from client to server for any secured data then server sends SSL certificate to client where it gets validated. Thus upon validation the client browser sends a verification message to server stating that the SSL has been validated. Upon receiving verification message from client the server starts the web session with SSL layer. Thus any transactions happening between server and client is SSL secured. The URL for data transferred would be reflected as https which is combination of Http and SSL. In order to set up SSL for personal web application one needs to generate certificate. One can generate a trial free certificate from Thawte or Verisign. Users can see the steps below mentioned in order to generate a trial version of SSL for checking purpose.
