Prime Minister Inaugurates Apollo Reach Hospitals at Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu

Marking a special milestone in the Apollo Hospitals journey of healing, Dr Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India, inaugurated the Apollo Reach Hospitals at Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. The Guests of Honour, Dr K Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu and P Chidambaram, Union Minister of Home Affairs, Government of India also graced the occasion.

Apollo Reach Hospitals reaffirms the group’s commitment to take quality healthcare to the soul of India, its villages and towns. The ‘REACH’ strategy facilitates world-class care in smaller towns at an affordable cost and leverages technology to make available services like telemedicine, specialist second opinion services and mobile –healthcare for better management of diseases and health alerts. Two years ago, Dr Manmohan Singh had laid the foundation stone for the first Apollo Reach Hospitals and unveiled a healthcare blueprint that addresses the need of a growing population and a burgeoning disease burden and in his address, he said, “Apollo Reach Hospitals marks the “beginning of a new era”

Designed as a 110-beds hospital, the technologically advanced multi-disciplinary Apollo Reach Hospital at Karaikudi will provide patients’ with services in 21 specialities including most of Apollo’s Centres of Excellence ie cardiology & cardio thoracic surgery, neurosciences orthopaedics, emergency & critical care and preventive care.

With a state–of-art laboratory & diagnostic facility, CT scan & cath lab backed by ACLS-Ambulance & Blood Product Distribution Center, the hospital is well equipped to provide emergency and critical care services 24 X 7, with emphasis on cardiac and trauma care. In addition its advanced laboratory & radiology facilities, blood bank, endoscopy and dialysis will play an important role in augmenting healthcare delivery along with other clinics in the area. Located at just 5- km from central Karaikudi, the Apollo Reach Hospital is very easily accessible to people of all the surrounding villages.
