Tomato soup

Tomatoes or sometimes pomme d’amour, meaning “love apple,”in  French, or “pomodoro” or “golden apple,”in  Italian are widely spread in the world.They are also widely known because of their outstanding antioxidant content, including, rich concentration of lycopene. By eating of tomatoes you reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Tomatoes has long been linked to heart health. Fresh tomatoes and tomato extracts have been shown to help lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides.Another very important thing closely linked to this fruit is that  tomato extracts help prevent unwanted clumping together (aggregation) of platelet cells in the blood.This is especially important in lowering risk of heart problems like atherosclerosis.Tomatoes are rich in lots of vitamins: C, B1, B3, B6, K,A,E. They are also rich in phosphorus, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, molibdenum.All these tomato nutrients lead to  specific antioxidant protection of the bones, liver, kidneys, and bloodstream. It is not surprising that tomatoes are known as a cancer-protective food. Diets that include tomatoes have been linked with reduced risk of some neurological diseases (for example, Alzheimer’s disease).Do you need any other information to start preparing your tomato soup?Of course,the next important thing is the recipe itself.

Preparation and cooking time 40 minutes. The recipe serves 4.


1 kg red tomatoes

2 red onions

1 clove of garlic

1 reg paprika

2 table spoons olive oil

Method of preparing:

The first thing you have to do is to wash tomatoes under cool running water.Then dry them and peel them. The next thing you have to do is to chop the tomatoes.Leave them into a bowl. Clean and wash the red paprika. Remove the seeds.Chop finelly. Do the same with the onion and the clove of garlic. So, it is time to start your cooking. Put first the onion into the saucepan full with olive oil. Cook for 5 minutes. Then add the  the chopped paprika and the garlic. Tir well and continue cooking for 2 or 3 minutes. Add some water. It depends on your wish how much water you will add. About 200 gr is a good choice. After  5 minutes you can add the tomatoes and cook until they are tender( about 15 minutes).

As you see the soup is very easy for preparing. Do not forget that it is healthy and at the same time very  delicious! Enjoy the soup!
