Pregnant women have special health and nutritional needs. They are eating for two, for themselves and for the new baby growing inside her womb. So they want to make sure they are eating healthy foods. It is important for pregnant women to watch what they eat and drink. For example, doctors advise strict avoidance of all alcoholic beverages during pregnancy.

It is also recommended to supplement with folic acid. Folic acid is included in all good quality brands of prenatal vitamins and other important nutrients such as vitamin B, minerals like calcium, etc.

If you are trying to conceive, experiencing some symptoms of pregnancy, or pregnant, you need to follow a healthy balanced diet. Your body will undergo many changes with each passing month. Make sure you get enough rest. Fatigue is a common complaint of pregnant women. Your body is going through a lot of stressful work to create a human life. You are doing something totally unbelievable. And you deserve a break, huh? Of course you do. So take plenty of breaks, sit down, take a nap every day if possible.

You and your baby will need more calories during the stages of pregnancy. Some doctors estimate that it will consume about 300 extra calories each day.
