Actress Lauren Graham, best known for her role as the witty and independent single mother Lorelai Gilmore on the WB Network hit dramedy series Gilmore Girls, is returning to television. She will be starring in the ABC comedy show titled The Bridget Show. Graham will play a self-help expert who struggles to follow her own advice after her boyfriend breaks up with her. It is rumored that Graham may begin shooting for the pilot episode sometime in October.
Besides starring on the Gilmore Girls from 2000 to 2008, Graham has made numerous film and television appearances. She played supporting roles in the hit movies Sweet November, The Pacifier, Because I Said So, Bad Santa, and Flash of Genius. She has also been a cast member in three short lived sitcoms. These were called Townies, Lush Life, and Good Company. Graham also appeared in a recurring role as Richard’s ditzy girlfriend on the NBC comedy series Caroline in the City, and guest starred on several other hit shows, including Third Rock From the Sun, Law & Order, Newradio, and Seinfeld.
It was Graham’s performance on Gilmore Girls thatreallybolstered her career, however. Her role on the show earned her much critical acclaim, as well as a 2001 Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series (Drama). And, in 2007, she received a position as producer on the show.
Recently, Graham made her debut on Broadway as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, a show that premiered in March of 2009. Graham has received generally positive reviews from critics on her first Broadway role.
