You Need Practice For Perfection

One of the main essentials to become an expert is to practice. Think of what you have to do when you need to play the piano and if you need to learn how to cook. You will need to practice so that you can be an expert in whatever you are doing. During the practice, you will be able to identify where something is wrong and you will think about how you can improve. You will realize that things are not right and you will begin to learn how you do those things in a different and better way.

When you hear about practice, then you have to know that there two types of practicing that you can consider.

Deliberate Practice

This is the practice you repeat everyday in a deliberate way, you can do this without any need to improve but you do it from time to time. An example can be taken from the way that a child learns how to write. He will be given something to write many times. Even if other people are monitoring a child, the child is not concerned about improvement in his mind.

This is all there is to deliberate practice; you do something over and over again. This can be when you play for example. Sometimes you are not concerned about improving the game but you just play because you love playing. As you continue to play, you will be including some tricks and strategies in your game according to the evaluation you are making.

Non – Deliberate Practice

This is when you practice with someone else. For example when you choose to join a course so that you can learn something, it is normally non-deliberate. You will not be doing things by only iteration but you will do these things because you are supervised by someone who has experience and who knows how he can train you. Reading also can be considered as a way of non-deliberate practice since you do not do things automatically. You will be following all the instructions that are found in the book.

If you want to be an expert then you can use non-deliberate and deliberate practice. Many people may choose to begin the non-deliberate way so that they will be fully aware of what to rehearse before they switch to a deliberate practice. A fine example is of somebody who works out in the gym. During the first week, an instructor will help you, however, after sometime you will be left alone. When you are still working under the instructor’s supervision, it will be considered non-deliberate. When you do activities yourself then it is deliberate practice.
