Last week, a somewhat similar study by third-party analyst company comScore found that, of their research, the free app TapTapRevenge was the application that most users had installed. Apple’s list only reports the most-downloaded apps. As comScore noted, however, the vast majority of them are games.

The App Store is no doubt popular. It will be interesting to note which applications may still be around when Apple hits 2 billion app store downloads. If the current trend continues, you can be sure to find many more games in the future. Especially with Iphone 3.0 looming in the near future.
