A Charlie Brown Christmas: Remastered Deluxe Edition DVD is a nice little DVD to have for the holidays or anytime you want to enjoy the magic of Charles Schulz, who created the “Peanuts” comic strip.

The DVD case has a cardboard box that it slips into.  The artwork on this is the same as the actual DVD case, but it has little sprinkles and such on it.  It really is quite pretty and makes for a great display if you have a desire to do so.  It looks sharper than the actual shell because of the deepness of the colors and such.

The case itself is actually not top quality.  It feels cheap and flimsy, though not quite as bad as some of the Disney ones I have seen.  It truly feels like if you press down with any power at all that it would just cave in.

The cover artwork is perfect, though, as it is Charlie Brown and Snoopy along with the tiny Christmas tree that is so crucial to the animated tale.

The disk is a little disappointing.  It’s silver with some hard to read red sketches of the title and Snoopy.

The story, A Charlie Brown Christmas, is so well known.  It is a touching portrayal of kids who argue like normal and then discover the meaning of Christmas.  There is a religious element to it, brought to the forefront by Linus, who still clutches his blue blanket.  It sometimes amazes me that this segment made it on the air, but I am so glad it did.

The cartoon has been remastered and comes across beautifully on the TV screen.

Also included is It’s Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown, which is entertaining in its own right, but not quite as poignant as its predecessor.

There is a bonus piece that I really enjoyed a lot that deals with the making of A Charlie Brown Christmas.  It is quite enlightening on how the program came about and some of the many choices that were made.

On the whole, I am glad to have this DVD.  I do love that little Christmas tree with its one ornament.  It says so much about Christmas.
