Satellite Radio 2.0 is a term used by SiriusXM to refer to the second-generation satellite radio and service. Yes, there will be such things as 2.0 service and 2.0 radios.
There will be 20 new channels added to the SiriusXM line-up. These include 12 Spanish channels.

To be able to get these extra channels, you need to have a compatible unit. The first compatible radio is the SiriusXM EDGE which comes with a car kit. This is compatible with a home docking and sound system accessories which are sold separately. The MSRP for EDGE is $139.99.
The second radio capable of 2.0 service is the SiriusXM LYNX which leaked in Best Buy last month but was recently announced officially. It will be an Android-based satellite receiver and was said to have touchscreen, Bluetooth and WIFI capabilities. The MSRP is $249.99.
SiriusXM subscribers are now receiving notifications regarding the price increase that will take effect on January 1, 2012. The base price will increase from $12.95 to $14.49 per month which is $1.54 difference. Other price increases will be $1.00 and $0.51 per month for multi-radio satellite services and internet radio respectively. The customers are now in question if the Satellite Radio 2.0 justifies the price hike.
