It is possible that you may benefit from taking medication for your anxiety and depression but this is only true if you are planning on doing other things to help yourself while taking such medications.  In other words, these medications may be beneficial for short-term use but not for long-term use.  This is because these medications will not treat the underlying causes of anxiety and depression.  They are simply meant to provide some relief as a person undergoes counseling.

There are 2 main causes of anxiety and depression.  These are:
1.A person’s body may be imbalanced due to a poor diet coupled with a lack of exercise.  These issues must be addressed or else medication will not be of any benefit to you.
2.You may find yourself undergoing a lot of emotional stress.  In such cases you may succumb to dysfunctional thinking and negative self-talk.  Whenever this happens, you will need to learn how to treat yourself better.  Medication can ease some of this pain as you learn this.

By learning to take better care of yourself, you can actually forgo any need for medication.  Herein you will need to be empowered to take back control of your own life.  As was aforementioned, medication can provide you with some relief as you do learn how to do these things but it is important that this medication only be used temporarily.  In other words, you should never think of medication as a long-term solution to your problems.
