2 Cups of ketchup

1 (6 oz) can of tomato paste

1/4 Cup of apple cider vinegar

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup of soy sauce

1/2 cup of molasses (maple syrup could be substituted for a different taste)

1 cup brown sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. pepper

1 tsp. onion powder

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. paprika of your choice (sweet, hot or smoked)

1 tsp. ground ginger

1/3 c water

4 tsp. cornstarch

In a 2-quart sauce pan add ketchup, tomato paste, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, & molasses. Stir well & simmer over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes the add spices, stir well and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes. The mixture will start thicken, however it will not be as thick as most commercial barbecue sauce. If you wish to thicken BBQ Sauce further simply mix the 1/3 cup water & 4 tsp. cornstarch together in a small bowl and add during the last five minutes of simmering. This will thicken the sauce quiet well. Add to jars or bowl with lid and keep refrigerated.
