The misgovernment and cruelty of Nawabs led to the insurrections in 1863 against Nawabs. The rebellion against nawabs was crushed by the armed forces. But in 1866, Nawab of Bahawalpur died out of having been poisoned. After his death, his son Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan IV succeeded him and took control of the whole state of Bahawalpur.
