How Far Have You Gone With Your Little Faith?

Everyone has some kind of faith. Faith is the trust you have on what you believe to be true. In the Bible, faith is defined as the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we can not see it up ahead. (Hebrews 11:1, TLB). Well, I know you believe God exist. In fact there is no genuine atheist. If you take the map of the world you will identify the country by the name Israel. Israel is Jacob the son of Isaac, and also he is the grandson of Abraham. The full story of its origin and existence is well explained in the Bible – Old Testament. Another thing for atheist to think is, Today is Tuesday, 8th, November, 2011 AD, and history records that dates were changed soon after the birth of Messiah, Jesus Christ. History is recorded on two major periods BC (Before Christ) and AD (After Christ). In fact, Christmas holiday is the celebration of our Lord’s birthday. This must be able to confirm your faith that God is there. The only question remain is, how can we take individual action in our life and align our life according to His will.

There is little faith and large faith. Your task is to take steps to grow your faith and keep it growing. Please note, I am not talking of lack of faith. Because lack of faith is empty, baseless and nothing could be built on top of it. I am talking about that little faith you have. The kind of faith that God exists and He loves us so much as it is written in the scripture (John 3:16). My objective is to show you, how capable you are if you will really believe. (Hebrews 11:33-34, TLB) says “These people all trusted God and as a result won battles, overthrew kingdoms, ruled their people well, and received what God has promised then; they were kept from harm in a den of lions, and in fiery furnace. Some, through their faith, escaped death by the sword. Some were made strong again after they have been weak or sick. Others were given great power in battle; they made the whole armies turn and run”. All things are possible if you have faith in God.

It was these verses (Luke 17:5-6, TLB) that form the central part my writing. I just could’n wait to take the pen and paper and start writing what you read.

The apostles said to the Lord “We need more faith; tell us how to get it” They said after hearing remarks from Jesus that you ought to forgive your brother even if he wrongs you seven times within 24 hours in a single day! They probably thought, you have the right to punish your brother if he wrongs you several times a day doing the same mistake. But the Lord said, if your brother is feeling sorry for what he did, forgive him. That was hard to practice, and so they wanted more faith. I must admit, Myself I was greatly amazed after learning some truth from the Lord’s reply. The Lord said “If your faith were only the size of a mustard seed – it would be large enough to uproot that mulberry tree over there and send it hurtling into the sea! Your command would bring immediate results!” Hallelujah! Praise the Almighty God! In some part of the scripture, it says faith can move mountains!

Hope you have seen with me, the apostles wanted more faith, but the Lord is saying the little faith still has tremendous and big impact! The faith in the size of mustard seed could move big trees and plant them into the sea! This could mean, faith can make you well and move away any obstacles in your life no matter how worst things look like!

Let’s face it together again, what have you done with your little faith? If you are in the boat and you believe you could walk on water, do you have the faith to get out from the boat? If you believe you are great author, could you take the pen and paper and begin writing your dream book? Could you forgive your brother not only seven times but also seven times seventy? Could you offer your help to those poor begging money to you? If you are a lawyer, why not defending the oppressed? What am I saying is, if you have wings, why not start flying? Our Lord is expecting us to do more than he did (John 14:12).

There is a story about an eagle that was brought up by mother chicken. Its egg was mixed with that of other chicken and therefore they were hatched together. For sometime that eagle believed it was chicken and therefore lived like other chickens. It had never given a try into flying though it has wings. One day it saw an eagle flying in the sky, and it admired a lot. However, the other day, it happened by chance the same eagle was falling from the cliff. In order to save itself from hitting the rocky ground, it decided to use its wings. Eventually, it came to fly. That was the moment it comes to know who it was! Without doubt it discovered that it was not chicken but an eagle!

Now, what about you? Are you waiting to fall from the cliff in order to realize that you are made of great stuff? I challenge you to take forward steps from the little faith you have, and I am sure you will astonish yourself with the power within you! Make the kingdom of God your primary concern and the Holy Spirit will guide well along the path.

Have faith in God. With him all things are possible.
