Recent test from AV-Comparatives. Org 2011 is the test chart, which is a direct test for analysis of different samples of the virus (malware) that many previously circulated. The test was updated September 27, 2011, remains relevant.

Unlike the previous test, some free products (Free Edition) this time participated in this test, which allows us to compare how the best free antivirus. Free antivirus that participated were: Avast, AVG, Avira, Panda and MSE (Microsoft). Test this time of AV-Comparatives, using a sample of malware (viruses, worms, Trojan horses and others) as much as 206,043 a spread in a month earlier. Some of the results of these tests:

The percentage of number of samples that were not detected

Amount of error detection by antivirus

The scanning speed

The graph above, I bought the red arrow is a free anti-virus. Anti-virus detection of total summarized as follows:

1. Avira with a 99.5%

2. Panda Cloud with 99.3%

3. Avast is 97.3%

4. AVG with 95.7%

5. Microsoft, with 92.3%

As the number of detected ungguk Avira Free edition appeared more than a free antivirus, but in terms of scanning speed, Avast! Free Antivirus far exceeds any other free antivirus, avast, even faster than any other antivirus that participated in this event, including pay. So the problem of fault detection, at least Microsoft’s essential security against other AVG free antivirus, and most detection errors.

For those who wish to use a free antivirus, the five products tested, seems the best choice between Avira and Avast. Although the pandas, including top rankings, but Panda use technology so that every moment must be online for best results. As for qualifications, Avira does see a little higher, but in terms of features included, I see that Avast is even higher. So the decision to use what was left in the hands of individual users.

For all antiviral, G-Data as before is still ranked top for the detection capability, with a total of 99.7%, followed by TrustPort with 99.6% and the third is Qihoo with Avira and 99.5 %, respectively.
