1. Gather the ingredients
Chances are you already have most, if not all, of the necessary ingredients. You’ll need the following:
-1 stick of butter, 2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of milk, 3 tbs cocoa, 2/3 cup of peanut butter, 3 & 1/4 cup of oatmeal.
2. Heat things up
Combine in a medium sized pot over medium heat the butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa. Stir until you have a dark and delicious chocolate sauce. *This is the important part* Turn heat on high and watch carefully. The moment you see the sauce bubble around the edges, remove from the heat. The key to perfect, no-bake cookies is in this step. If you do not leave it on long enough your cookies will crumble. If you leave it on too long they will be gooey and won’t set properly.
3. Mix it all together
Now is time to add the peanut butter and oatmeal. Use a sturdy wooden spoon and mix until everything is completely blended.
4. Dollops of delight
Use either wax paper or plastic wrap and cover one or two cookie sheets. *Bonus* The wrap can be easily removed leaving a clean cookie sheet and one less thing to wash! Using a spoon, melon baller, or other utinsel of choice, dollop the mixture onto the cookie sheets.
Wash up your spoons, measuring cups, and pot. Wait for about 15 minutes and, viola! They are ready to be enjoyed!
