its finally happened – super Al, big al, god of the toon himself has become newcastle uniteds manager……the only catch is it’s only till the end of the season, 8 games to turn things around on the toon and get them out of thier disastrous league position and avoid relegation to the championship!
THIS WAS NO APRIL FOOLS JOKE BY MIKE ASHLEY – he pulled it out the bag
alan shearer has had a prolific goal scoring carreer where ever he played – starting at newcastle school boys, southampton, blackburn where he won the premiership and then rejecting the chance to play for manchester united to play back at his home town – newcastle and of course he banged quite a few goals in for england as well.
his playing carreer is legendary, thats why he is idolised more than kevin keegan on the toon, a local made it and came home.
however his managerial carreer is unknown – this is his first step and what a challenge to take.
some see it as a win win situation knowing with so little games left he can walk away at the end of the season saying he tried but it was to late.
others see it as he’s risking his status up north if they get relegated,
i see it as option 1, newcastle stay up – he gets praised from everyone, his status is even more god like and he can leave after that saying i done my job (and got a 1 million pound bonus)
and as said earlier they go down and people feel sorry for him because he didnt have enough time.
also id like to say newcastle are a big club – one the premiership needs,i dont wanna see them go down but thats football, they may play well or good football but theyve kept losing or not getting the desired results needed.
good luck mr shearer you might need quite alot of it – especiallly against chelsea on saturday!
