Pillsbury Sweet Moments Molten Lava Brownies

Trying out Pillsbury Sweet Moments Molten Lava Brownies was one of the worst surprises I have ever had, food wise.  It is one shared by a similiar product from Pillsbury, that of their Bite size version of brownies in the Sweet Moments line.

Frankly, I just do not understand what has gone wrong here.  I love Pillsbury as a brand.  It is not that I enjoy all of their products, but most of them reach a certain standard of consistency and taste, especially in their dessert options.  In fact, there was a past product from Pillsbury that I adored passionately that were frozen brownies, so when I purchased these Sweet Moments products, I definitely had expectations.

Boy, was I disappointed.  In fact, it is one of the few times that I felt like I had wasted my money.  They were among the worst desserts I have ever eaten, and considering how much I love brownies, that says a lot.

This product comes in a pretty blue box that contains two bowls of the brownies.  All you have to do is remove the plastic film atop the bowl and then microwave for 10 to 15 seconds.  It is then supposed to be hot and ready to it.  Well, both bowls were hot, but neither were ready to it in my opinion.

The brownies were dry and bland.  Seriously, there was no taste to these things.  I do not know where the molten lava moniker comes from, because the brownies were more like burnt out mountains to me.  I just did not enjoy even a morsel of the product.  In fact, it is still unbelievable to me, but I hated it so much, I threw it away without finishing it.  The big reveal here is that I did twice, with each bowl, separated by time, and not just one time.

Part of me wonders if maybe there were some bad batches early on in the distribution of the product, but I do not know. I expect so much more from Pillsbury, but I will not buy any of their Sweet Moments foods after these first two very negative experiences.  It is a waste of money.
