Adding ram is the single most important thing you can do to speed up a slow computer. Once you have looked up what ram fits with your computer and you have bought it, its time to install it. The first thing to do is to turn off your computer and disconnect it completely from everything.
Put the computer in a large workspace away from electrical equipment that could interfere with it. Unscrew or take off the exterior panel that lets you get into the inner area of the computer. (Refer to your computer manual).
Next look for where the other ram sticks are in your computer. They should look very similar to the one you already have. If there is an open slot, pop the ram into it so it fits nice and snug. If there is no room, take out the smallest ram stick (smallest memory) and put in the new one.
Put your computer back together and plug it back in. Turn it on and the computer should automatically read the ram and your computer should be noticeably faster.
